Hairdressing Apprenticeship Level 2/3 Diploma for Hair Professionals - Hairdressing The Programme includes: • Ofsted outstanding training facility • Two days a month academy training for 21 months • Salon placement • Math and English functional skills • Attend workshops/demos • Progress into level 3 hairdressing • Enter competitions and attend high profile workshops and inspirational events inclusive of Salon International Here are the units that you will be required to complete in order to achieve your NVQ level 2 Diploma in Hair. The units in this qualification are based on the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for Hairdressing. Your qualification is divided into units. Each unit covers a different area of your work as a hairdresser. For each unit you achieve you will earn credits. Some of the units are compulsory and others are optional and will be discussed at induction. Advanced and Creative Hair Professional Advanced hair professional level 3 This is an opportunity to gain advanced skills that will further develop your career in Hairdressing. Being an Apprentice enables you to work hands-on, every day doing what you love. You will be able to provide a quality service and be able to work to the highest industry standards developing personal and professional skills. Additionally, creating a portfolio of personal work demonstrating techniques in creative colour conversion and precision cuts. You will also learn English, Maths, client communication and much more. You will need a NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing to apply. AS A LEARNER ON THIS COURSE YOU WILL BECOME SOMEONE WHO:  researches fashion forward trends, using the results to create, plan and promote a collection of hairstyle looks that reflects their own individuality analyses the factors that influence the design and creation of the collection of hairstyle looks, including the target audience designs a range of looks to create a fashion forward collection of hairstyle looks uses and adapts a range of sectioning and cutting guidelines, creative and precision techniques and technical skills to create and enhance the collection of hairstyle looks carries out precision and personalised cutting tailored to individual client characteristics formulates imaginative creative advanced colour conversion services to change the depth and tone of the hair uses a range of creative finishing and dressing techniques, advanced creative colouring techniques to enhance the collection of hairstyle looks presents, showcases and promotes their skills though their collection of hairstyle looks via a variety of media types and platforms provides a smoothing strengthening service to clients carries out in-depth consultation and complex analysis of the hair provides advice on future services and products evaluates the results of the service to improve further practice WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR?  Next steps for anyone who has achieved the Hair Professional Standard and wanting to further their creative skills. You will need a keen interest in the Hairdressing industry and be committed and motivated to progress and succeed. HOW IS THIS COURSE DELIVERED?  During the course Learners will create and collect a portfolio of evidence for assessment. The End Point Assessment will consist of written, oral and observational practice evidence. WHAT CAN I DO AFTER? Options for your career include applying to: work on cruise ships, session stylist, Film and TV work, being part of a creative art team, catwalk hair, work with big brands such as Wella, L’Oreal as ambassadors or educators etc. or continue working in a salon or self employment. ADDITIONAL COST You will be required to purchase a standard kit. The cost is around £75. The information will be given to you on our pre-inductions which take place every Thursday, once you join the Academy, to prepare you ready to start your training. .

Level 3 Hairdressing/Barbering Advanced Learner Loan Level 3 Hairdressing/Barbering 19+ Adult Learner The Adult learner loan is the perfect way to start your new career, while working around day to day life. You will be working towards an NVQ Level 3 in barbering over a 50 week course, which will place once a week. Course Costs The course costs £3000, you are able to get an Adult Learner Loan for this or you can self-fund the course. A deposit of £600 is needed to be paid before you start the course, either up front or in Instalments. You must have: • A strong commitment to your training • Excellent attendance and punctuality • Enthusiasm and high motivation • Good communication skills Entry Requirements • Book into the training academy • Following the academy meeting you will receive a learning and funding letter Eligibility • Age 19 and above • Nationality or Residency status What will you learn on the course? The Level 3 covers a whole range of units that you are given a solid foundation within barbering. You can gain employment from your Barber shop and work as a qualified barber. You may wish to open your own Barbershop and use the skills you have been taught at the Academy to further your career. Adult Course (19+ Traineeships) Looking for a career change? Our traineeship programme offers an introduction into the creative world of hairdressing or barbering. Offering first hand work experience and potentially progression onto an apprenticeship following successful completion of the programme. You will be working in a salon or Barbershop for 2 days a week and attending the Academy 1 day a week over a 8-week course. ELIGIBLITY REQUIREMENTS This is an intensive course and learners must be able to give 100% commitment to their studies and place of work. You must have: •Learner must be between the age of 19+ •Should not be in employment with little work experience •Working with DWP or on Universal credit •A strong commitment to your training •Excellent attendance and punctuality •Enthusiasm and high motivation •Good communication skills Additional activities Following a full initial assessment analyse learners yet to achieve a level 2 or equivalent in functional skills will be enrolment to upskill and have support sessions in Maths and English. Any learners coming below level 1 in digital skills assessment will be enrolled on the level 1 digital skills course. The course covers a whole range of work preparation activities to ensure that you are given a solid foundation for entry into the industry. You will be covering the following; •CV writing •Communication and work ready activities •Basic vocational activities including- Reception work/ shampooing and finishing WHAT CAN YOU DO NEXT? Success completion of the programme could lead to an offer of an apprenticeship and the opportunity of working in a barbershop or salon.

Frequent Questions & Answers What will I learn? You will receive on and off the job training while you work towards your qualification. Your apprenticeship framework will include a range of ERR/Prevent/Safeguarding and Functional skills in Maths and English. We also host excellent hairdressing enrichment activities such as our creative hair workshops, competition work and diplomas. Units include: Shampooing, conditioning, client care, Consultation skills, styling, cutting, colouring and Health & safety. When can I enrol? We take on a new group every month so enrol today! How long does the course take? The average time for an apprentice to complete their qualification is between 14-21 months, however this is based on each learners ability individually. How often do I need to attend training? Training is one day every fortnight at the Training Academy and tutor/assessors will be visiting you in the salon to gain assessments. Additional training needs will be discussed at induction. What do I wear? We ask learners to wear all Black or Black and White. We also have a “No open toe Shoes” policy for Health & Safety reasons. How much do I get paid? Once employed at a salon/barbers you will be paid the current apprenticeship Wage set by your employer. There is, however, scope to increase this with tips. How old do I need to be? You can be any age over 16 years old as long as you have a salon placement, then you are able to start your apprenticeship with Reflections Training Academy. Do I always come to training on the same day? Once your training day is agreed then we endeavour to keep you in that group unless otherwise discussed by your tutor/employer. Training will always be on a day between Monday – Wednesday. Are there any additional costs? You are required to purchase a Hairdressing or Barbering kit, these can be purchased through the Training Academy's at a competitive price. Please liaise with your Tutor for details during induction. What is EPA? EPA stands for End Point Assessment this will allow you to qualify as a hairdresser/Barber and gain a pass or a distinction at your final assessment. This will take place at the end of your Training course.
