01 HIKER’S INN REST-0-CAFE

A Rest-o-cafe & Travel Gear Store on the highway to Ladakh, intended to cater to the bikers who come to Ladakh. Ladakh is a very seasonal travel destinations, one cannot put a huge capital investment like in a regular retail setup. Hence an alternative is required to setup a retail space that is cost efficient, can be prefabricated in a factory and can be easily dismantled and moved, one such option is using a standard shipping container to house the retail space. Use of ISO standard 40’ Shipping containers to set up retail space and housing other requirements. The shipping container cannot have more than 3 stacked on top of each other and they are arranged in such that the arrangement is climatically responsive. PRIMARY SPACES: Retail store, cafe, outdoor spaces SECONDARY SPACES: Individual bunkers, dorms, office space, toilet
