The 7th of December was a big day in the world of British Fashion as it was the British Fashion Awards at the newly refurbished Savoy Hotel. All the British fashion elite where there from Naomi Campbell to Victoria Beckham the crème de la crème where there. Sam Cameron was appointed on the British Fashion Council and will start her new job this January at London Fashion Week. So congratulations to her, I think with her sense of elegant high street attire she will do well in her new post. The dress code for this year awards ceremony saw a lot of black, our favorite of the night would go to Daphne Guinness in a sliver floor length gown she looked fantastic. Our dud of the night goes to Jasmine le bon, her attempt to add vibrant colors to the ceremony feel flat with us. The Christopher Kane dress didn’t flatter her gorgeous body and she couldn’t pull the outrageous dress off. Kudos for her trying something different and hopefully next time she’s feeling adventurous it pays off.
R by Reene Weston’s Opera Pre-Collection Runway Show at The Red Room The Red Room at Hamilton Place in Mayfair was the perfect opulent and decadent venue for us to preview R by Reene Weston’s Opera Collection. The night began at 8:30pm with a cocktail, designed for R by Reene Weston’s A/W 11-12 Collection. Followed by some canapés the runway show commenced at 9:30pm. The theme of the show was operatic, slow and dramatic. The show consisted of six pieces, just a sneak of what is to come. All pieces in the collection have been named after the best Opera, Soprano singers for instance Maria Callas. The show couldn’t have run smoother and we were so pleased to see so many people at the show, giving us their support and very positive feedback, some even trying to buy pieces from the collection now! For all those that were unable to attend don’t panic the show was such a success it maybe something we do again next year, so watch this space.
Our December Style Icon of the month epitomizes British fashion Miss Keira Knightley. We at Reene.Co salute you
