They call me Reem, an Emirati young artist born in Dubai in 1987. I’m currently studying art at Zayed University Dubai, in the College of Art and Creative Enterprises, specializing in visual art. Since elementary school I noticed my interest in drawing and I pursued it and tried to learn how to develop my work to be in a professional matter. While I enjoy thinking like a designer sometimes, I really love being a fine artist. I aspire to one day be a well known fine artist and hopefully I will become as important as the old art masters.
For me art is the way I express my feelings. Frequently art reflect my joy and happiness, and occasionally art becomes my therapy to overcome negative thoughts and depression. That›s exactly what my artworks refer to my distinguishing thoughts and emotions. I like to work with different mediums such printmaking, drawing, and especially sculpture, more specifically, found objects. My approach in making things is really complicated, I enjoy working with things that are continuousness with no endings and are extraordinary to the vision of others. My aspirations are to make artworks that influence the viewers. More over, I want to create art even if my works don›t make sense. And what’s important in my point of view is making things and put all my heart into it, to explore creativity through it, and become pleased with the outcomes.
