THE NO-CUT TUMMY TUCK When I was offered the chance to try this company’s 3D tummy tuck, I was expecting smoke and mirrors. I was happy to be proved wrong, writes Liz O'Reilly.
W
ith obesity an ever-growing problem, there are an awful lot of women (and a fair few men) who’ve considered a tummy tuck at one time or another. But, for many, the idea of painful, invasive surgery, general anaesthetic and several weeks of downtime, are enough to make them think again. So, if VLCC can really offer the same results without the aggravation and pain, and at a fraction of the cost, this could just be the holy grail of weight loss. On arrival at the centre in Isa Town, I was questioned about my lifestyle and medical history before being weighed and measured using a special machine, which calculates the body’s fat, water and muscle composition. Not surprisingly, it showed I had a fair bit of chub to lose around my tummy area, carrying weight in the mid-section increases the risk of diabetes and heart disease, so I was eager to get started. Next, it was on to the treatment room where I laid on a heated bed and therapist Sara wrapped my legs in heated covers, to increase circulation. She then set about my stomach area with her G4 vibration/massage machine. This part of the treatment feels a

bit like a high-speed, very vigorous massage and, again, it’s about breaking down fat and getting the circulation going. After around 15 minutes, she turned the machine off, extended the heated wraps almost to my chest and left me to warm through. I must admit, this actually felt pretty unpleasant, as it’s very hot. But, who was I to stand (or rather lie) in the way of a flat tum? Moving swiftly on, after about 20 minutes of gently heating, we transferred to another room where my midsection was massaged with an anti-cellulite oil combined with the an ampule of BelleWave 3D Body Contour Power Dose containing Euglena Gracilis extract, Glaucium Flavum extract and plant caffeine. This is apparently where the magic happens. The 20-minute massage was firm but not uncomfortable and was followed by another 15 minutes of ultrasound to help to break down the fat which is then naturally
removed by the body. At last it was time for the moment of truth. I’d been weighed and comprehensively measured before the treatment began and, being a life-long devotee of crash diets interspersed with the latest punishing gym ‘miracle’ workouts, I couldn’t believe anything so painless could possibly have results. But the evidence of the measuring tape before my own eyes showed a reduction of 3cm on my upper stomach and a, very respectable, 2cm off one thigh. I’d also lost 400 grams, almost half a kilo! What’s not to like about weight and centimetre loss that simply involves lying down and letting someone else do all the work? Thank you VLCC, I shall be back.
