The Lost Paradise of Dilmun (LPOD) rolls out an exciting array of events and activities this summer. The water park presents a cooling oasis that provides a muchdeserved treat after the long month of Ramadan; it is replete with rides, great food and entertainment. Developed by the Al Areen Holding Company, the water park covers an overall area of 77,000 square metres with a built-up area of 45,000 square metres. Enjoy the wave pool, while the kids make sand castles at the beach. Those looking for more action can take the family raft ride, the tallest ride in the park that spins and speeds down the long, winding chute before splash landing into the pool below. If this doesn’t excite you, then head to Boomerango. The giant pendulum-style slide features slides all the way down and then defies gravity by sliding all the way back up! The Kids’ Rainforest, with its water hoses, buckets and mini slides, keeps the little ones engaged and entertained for hours. At any point if you think you’ve spent all your energy, float along the Lazy River, bobbing gently through the caves and waterfalls. There’s also a therapeutic spa pool where various jets soothe your muscles. Enjoy a drink or a light snack at the pool bar. You can also have a lunch break at LPOD’s restaurant.

Entertainment central In addition to the rides, LPOD is known to organise fun fêtes and live attractions; this month is no different. Entertainment continues with live bands and renowned artists. Check out the amazing African acrobats, flown in all the way from Kenya. they perfom throughout August, three times a day. All Saturdays of the month include exclusive, familyfun mornings, when the park invites you and the kids from 8am to 11am for a number of activities and entertainment. These include face painting, clowns, fun with LPOD mascots Delma and Delmo, henna, balloon twisting, art and craft, and a special Zumba treat for the entire family. The waterpark opens for public from 10am till 7pm on weekdays and till 8pm on weekends. The design and architecture of the water park recreates the grandeur of the Dilmun period, with over 500 unique stone sculptures. There are dancing water fountains, lush green patches, gurgling streams and thatched shade structures that provide a great backdrop for the thrilling waterslides and pools. The various elements come together seamlessly to create a desert oasis for you to enjoy. i Call 17 845-100. August 2014 103
