ROTARY CLUB RAFT RACE
AL BANDER RESORT AND HOTEL
Registration is now open for this year’s raft race – the annual water-based fundraiser organised by the Rotary club of Sulmaniya. This year’s theme is Home of Hope. The incoming chairperson is Amira Ismail, whose term begins in July, under this theme. The focus during her year will be to renovate homes of people who are needy or unfortunate. A few people in Bahrain live in very substandard conditions and cannot afford to renovate. The Rotary Club of Salmaniya will plan to renovate a number of homes to make them comfortable for a large family. The day is always great fun with activities, entertainment and great food. Teams of eight rowers can be either men, women or mixed and the entry cost is BD450 per team. Official registration forms must be received no later than March 31 and places will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. Open practice sessions will be available from March 1 to April 15.
