OCEAN GAZING
There’s something so very memorable about eating out on the coast; a backdrop in constant flux with the seasons. Coast Saundersfood perched above the beach at Coppet Hall, Pembrokeshire, boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that capitalise on the stunning views out to sea. Head Chef Will Holland, a regular guest on Saturday Kitchen, was named one of the “10 most influential chefs of the next decade” and won a Michelin star while still in his 20s. The atmosphere is relaxed and the food is exquisite, from the seared king scallops with asparagus spears, pink grapefruit and hazelnut praline to the crumbled Pant-Ysgawn goat’s cheese salad. Pebble Beach in Barton-on-Sea was recently named “the number one place to eat by the sea in the south” by the Sunday Telegraph. Relax under the parasols on the terrace to soak up the sweeping views of the Solent, out towards Sandbanks and the Isle of Wight, while the team led by acclaimed Head Chef Pierre Chevillard serve French and English cuisine using the freshly landed fish and seasonal ingredients.
