Mini Explorers takes California Department of Education Preschool Learning Foundations earth and physical science standards and applies it in the natural world. Children are captivated by nature. By cultivating this sense of wonder, we help children to become scientific thinkers. The world around us is an amazing science lab, one that can be uniquely accessed with a kayak. This program will promote scientific experiences for the curious mind and introduce children and parents to the natural world on land and in the water. Instructor Miss Gina and Miss AJ.

Plant a tree today.

Grow benefits that last a lifetime. Redding Electric Utility, in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation's Energy-Saving Trees program, is offering a limited number of FREE trees to customers beginning April 22, 2017. By planting the right tree in the right place, you can reduce energy consumption by up to 20% each year. But the benefits don’t stop there, trees improve air and water quality, help relieve stress, and make yards more enjoyable. • Trees help clean our water by reducing stormwater runoff and keeping chemicals, oil, and pollutants out of water supplies. • Studies have shown that children and youth living in greener neighborhoods are calmer and healthier. • Trees absorb carbon dioxide and filter airborne pollution – reducing the conditions that cause asthma.

Visit www.ReddingTrees.org to reserve your trees today.

This class is designed as an introduction to the sport. Participants will learn proper paddling, safety, maneuvers, and familiarize themselves with Stand-Up Paddleboarding. SUP is an emerging global sport with a Hawaiian heritage. It utilizes a one-bladed paddle, while standing on a normal length surfboard. Flat water SUPing is a healthy, low-impact, and environmentally friendly paddle sport that appeals to both the young and the young-at-heart.
