Honoring Hope and Supporting Our Community
At Win-River Resort & Casino, our Bingo community is more than a group of players. It is a family. We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible Bingo customers whose continued support has helped turn a meaningful tradition into something truly impactful.
Each night our Bingo team hosts a special game in honor of Hope Wilkes, our longest serving Tribal Council Member with 32 years of dedication and one of our longest serving employees with 33 years of service. Hope bravely battled cancer, and this special game was created to celebrate her legacy and continue her spirit of generosity and care for others.

During the Hope Wilkes Bingo Special, half of the winnings go to the lucky player and the other half is set aside to support cancer related causes. It is a powerful way to combine fun, community, and purpose while ensuring that Hope’s legacy continues to make a difference.
Thanks to the generosity of our Bingo players, the Redding Rancheria Tribal Council was proud to present two meaningful donations. A gift of $12,500 was presented to Nor-Cal Think Pink and another $12,500 was presented to Chicks N Chaps Redding, CA. These organizations do incredible work supporting cancer research and helping individuals and families who are facing the challenges of cancer, including assistance with medical expenses.
We are truly grateful to our Bingo community for helping honor Hope Wilkes in such a meaningful way. Every card played and every game enjoyed contributes to something bigger by supporting organizations that bring hope, care, and comfort to those fighting one of life’s toughest battles.
Thank you for helping us continue Hope’s legacy and for showing how a caring community can come together to make a real difference.

Redding Rancheria Taken Over By OZ

Redding, CA (March 12, 2026) Approximately 500 community members gathered for the 2026 Redding Rancheria a Year to Remember Annual Fundraiser Dinner, which embraced a Wicked theme and transformed the Rancheria into a magical land of Oz. The evening was a tremendous success, raising more than $61,000 for the Redding Rancheria Community Fund.
Guests enjoyed an immersive experience inspired by the classic movie, the Broadway musical, with themed décor and special entertainment brought to the stage by Linda Bott, creating a magical journey through Oz while supporting local nonprofit organizations.

“After the incredible success of last year’s Toga: Gods & Goddesses themed event, we wondered how we would possibly top it, but this year’s Wicked themed fundraiser truly exceeded our expectations,” said Tracy Edwards, Chief Executive Officer of the Redding Rancheria. “We are deeply grateful for the continued support from our community in helping grow this beneficial fund.”

During the evening, an additional $10,000 in gifts was awarded, with $5,000 going to the Tri County Community Network and $5,000 to the Douglas City Community Services District. These organizations provide vital programs and services that strengthen rural communities and support residents across the region.

All proceeds from the Redding Rancheria Community Fund Dinner will benefit the Redding Rancheria Community Fund. Since its inception in 2002, the fund has distributed more than $4.6 million to local organizations. In 2025 alone, 72 nonprofit organizations throughout Shasta and Trinity Counties received grants totaling $202,057.

Through events like the annual fundraiser dinner, Redding Rancheria continues its commitment to strengthening the region by supporting nonprofits, community programs, and essential services that improve quality of life for local residents.

Repatriation of Native Heirlooms

The Redding Rancheria would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mike Dahl of the Eaton Gift for appearing before our Tribal Council to repatriate Native heirlooms currently in the Foundation’s possession.
These items represent important pieces of Native history and cultural heritage. Our Cultural Department will carefully catalog each item as we begin the process of working to return them to their rightful Tribal communities. This effort reflects our shared commitment to honoring the traditions, stories, and cultural significance carried by these heirlooms.

We are grateful for the leadership and dedication shown by The Eaton Gift in supporting this important work. Their commitment to partnership, respect, and stewardship of Native heritage helps ensure that these meaningful items can be preserved and ultimately returned to the communities to whom they belong.

The Redding Rancheria values opportunities to collaborate with organizations that recognize the importance of protecting and honoring Native culture, and we appreciate The Eaton Gift for taking this meaningful step.

Rev Your Engines! Box Car Race Brings Big

Smiles to Head Start & Child Care Families

The event center was buzzing with excitement on Thursday, March 12th, as the Head Start and Child Care Program held its annual Box Car Race. It was an afternoon of pure joy, creativity, and friendly competition that brought together families, staff, and the youngest members of the community.

Children ranging from 1 to 5 years old took to the track in custom-built box cars designed and decorated by the children and their families. From bold paint jobs to imaginative details, each car was a one-of-akind creation that reflected the personality and creativity of its young driver.
A Day Built by Families, Driven by Kids
In the days before the big race, families got to work on what may be the most important engineering project of the year- the box car. Armed with cardboard boxes, paint, stickers, streamers, and pure creative genius, children and their families worked together to design and build their dream rides.

Program staff noted that the project was about far more than just racing. “This event gave families a chance to work together and create something special. Watching the children beam with pride as they showed off their cars was absolutely priceless.”

Learning Through Play

The event highlighted the program’s commitment to fostering child development through play, family engagement, and community connection.

Events like the Box Car Race are an important part of the program’s holistic approach to early childhood education. Building the cars supported fine motor skills and creative expression, while race day offered children opportunities to practice social skills, emotional regulation, turn-taking, good sportsmanship, and yes - a little bit of friendly competition.

Most importantly, the entire experience was rooted in family involvement - one of the cornerstones of the Head Start & Child Care mission. When children see their families show up, get creative, and cheer them on, it builds confidence, connection, and a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.

Vroom, Vroom… See You Next Year!

The program looks forward to seeing even more creative racers hit the track next year.

A huge thank you to all of the families who participated, the staff who organized the event, and everyone who cheered from the sidelines. You made this day truly special.

Redding Rancheria’s Hoppin’ & Egg-citing Easter Egg Hunt!

The Annual Redding Rancheria Easter Egg Hunt brought together Tribal Members, staff, Head Start, and their families for a memorable day of connection, celebration, and outdoor fun. With a strong turnout and a shared spirit of excitement, the event created a welcoming space for everyone to gather and enjoy the Easter holiday together.
Guests were
treated to a variety of festive activities for all ages. Children lit up with joy as they participated in colorful face painting, bounced the day away in lively bounce houses, and explored the grounds in search of golden eggs hidden throughout the area. The thrill of the hunt, paired with exciting prizes, made for an unforgettable experience for the kids.

Families also enjoyed capturing special moments with the Easter Bunny through keepsake photos, while a mobile petting zoo offered a unique, hands on experience that delighted both children and adults alike. Time spent together is what truly made the day special.
More than just a fun filled event, the Easter Egg Hunt served as a meaningful reminder of the strength and importance of togetherness. It is a time to come together, celebrate traditions, and create lasting memories through laughter and shared experiences.
