February 2026

Go Red Luncheon

The 2026 Go Redding event at Win-River Resort & Casino was more than a gathering. It was a powerful reminder of why we come together. We were proud to have our teams from Redding Rancheria, Redding Rancheria Tribal Health System, Win-River Resort & Casino, and RREDCO in attendance, united in support of women’s heart health.

Hearing Megan Dahle share her recovery journey was inspiring. Her courage reminded us to listen to the whispers, those quiet signals from our bodies that ask us to pause and pay attention. Your body talks. Areyou listening?

Congratulations to Linda Bott and Marianne Seifert on receiving the Heart of the Community Award. Your recognition was so well deserved. Our message about women’s heart health is not finished. It continues loudly, clearly, and with purpose. Will you help us?

If you do not know what that means, ask someone who was there. Trust me. It will make sense. Listen to the whispers. Your body talks. Pay attention.

Honoring the Families of the Redding Rancheria

At the Redding Rancheria, we are proud to be a family oriented employer. Across health, government, education, and enterprise, many of our employees do more than work side by side, they are family. These connections strengthen our workplace and reflect the values and traditions that guide us forward as a community.

As part of our ongoing effort to highlight the people who make the Redding Rancheria such a special place to work, we are excited to share the story of Lynn, Kyle, and Ryan Riggins, a mom and sons team who bring dedication, positivity, and heart to their roles every day.

For Lynn:

For Kyle:

“Well, this was not funny. I mean, I was scared to death. We went rafting for team building, and I got thrown out and under the raft. I was terrified. I walked my way out like they said, and Patti Blair was ready to jump in after me because my eyes were this big when I popped up. Yeah, that was terrifying, but it was fun.”

“I like the Security Department camping trip that they have every year. That is fun. I just really enjoy my job. It is always fun.”

For Ryan:

“I just like working here and have been here for a while. There is no reason to leave. Every night something new happens with the players. There is always something new going on. You think you have seen it all after seventeen years, and you have not.”

Together, Lynn, Kyle, and Ryan represent the strong bonds, shared experiences, and supportive culture that define our workforce. We are proud of their journey, growth, and dedication, and of all the team members who help us build a lasting legacy for future generations.

Meeting with Chief Lora Ann Chaisson

It was a true honor for the Redding Rancheria Tribal Council to meet with Chief Lora Ann Chaisson of the Houma Nation of Louisiana. The visit provided an opportunity for meaningful conversations grounded in leadership, sovereignty, and a shared commitment to strengthening Tribal Nations. We are grateful for the time spent together and the exchange of knowledge and perspective.

Frosty Fun Runs

Cold weather did not stop the Redding Rancheria from embracing a little frosty fun this month. Staff laced up their running shoes and participated in local runs at Clover Creek and Fleet Feet, showing that wellness remains a priority no matter the season.

The Redding Rancheria Wellness Department coordinated these opportunities, encouraging employees to stay active, motivated, and connected. Through movement and shared experiences, participants strengthened not only their physical health but also their sense of camaraderie and community.

Rain or shine, warm or cold, Redding Rancheria continues to demonstrate its commitment to wellness and the power of coming together in support of healthy lifestyles.

Missing & Murdered Indigenous People

Tribal leaders, Assemblymen, and Assemblywomen came together for a powerful press conference in recognition of Missing and Murdered Indigenous People, hosted by Enterprise Rancheria at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The event brought leaders and advocates together to raise awareness, advance justice, and strengthen the safety of our communities.

The Redding Rancheria was honored to stand in unity and strength alongside Indigenous Justice at the Indigenous Empowerment and Justice Summit. Together, we reaffirmed our shared responsibility to honor and remember those who were lost, to support the families and loved ones who continued to seek answers, and to advocate for meaningful change.

The gathering was more than a moment of awareness. It was a call to action, accountability, and ensuring that Indigenous voices were heard. Our relatives mattered. Our lives mattered.

National Congress of American Indians

The National Congress of American Indians 2026 Executive Council Winter Session began with the 2026 State of Indian Nations Address. NCAI President Mark Macarro, Executive Director Larry Wright Jr., and Youth Commission Co Presidents Serna and Kanuhsa outlined key priorities for Indian Country in the year ahead, reaffirming a commitment to Tribal sovereignty and self-determination.

United States Senator Tina Smith of Minnesota spoke about the federal government’s responsibility to uphold its trust and treaty obligations to Tribal Nations, emphasizing the importance of strong government to government relationships.

The Session brought together Tribal leaders, advocates, and partners from across the country for the Second General Assembly, continued task force work, and celebrations honoring the women and youth of NCAI. Our Chairman, Jack Potter Jr., and CEO, Tracy Edwards attended the Session.
