Arlington, WI 10am

Welcome to the 2nd Annual Wisconsin Southdown Stars Sale and Symposium! Our goal for this sale is to, “Make it EASY for consignors, bidders and buyers to sell and buy high quality Southdowns!” To be efficient with your time, there is no show associated with this sale and the entire event will be held from 10AM-1PM in a high quality, climate controlled facility. Our online catalog and website are fluid; we will add consignors, lot information and pictures up until the Monday before the sale…..so continue to log on to our web site (www.wisconsinsouthdowns) to watch this catalog unfold! New this year….if you are not able to be present sale day and need to bid from a distance or just want to watch this exciting event, we invite you to watch the sale online! You can watch a live webcast of the sale; just click on the link on the homepage of our website a few minutes before 12:00 NOON (Central Standard Time). We heard your feedback that online bidding is sometimes unreliable, so we are providing a “Real Time Bidding” conference call line where you can hear the auctioneer and bidding and place your bids “Real Time” in sync with the auctioneer. We think our online viewing and teleconference bidding combination gives you the best of both technologies and a high level of comfort that the bid you wish to place is what is being recorded. The symposium will start at 10:00AM with interactive educational sessions on “Genetic Testing in the Southdown Breed” and “Preparing your Southdown for Show”. We will continue our tradition of awarding several deserving youth their first Southdown in our “Starter Ewe Lamb” program. This event is about great sheep but it is also about great people and we ALWAYS look for a chance to welcome new people in the Southdown breed! See you sale day!

Sire - NSLS New Generation Dam - A&M 4-81

You can’t build one much better than this one from the ground up! From a great set of feet and legs, to an awesome top shape and loin edge, she has that added hip shape and lower shape to her stiffle to make her a needed purchase if you’re wanting to add muscle. Oh and did I mention that 4-81 is the mother of American Express?

In the last 10 years, the Southdown breed has experienced tremendous growth in the state of Wisconsin. We are often ranked among the top five states in the USA for numbers of registrations and transfers. Southdowns are being used in Wisconsin Commercial flocks as terminal sires to add muscle and substance. They have become the breed with the largest entries shown at most open and youth shows in the state. And we are not just about quantity.... Wisconsin Southdown breeders consistently produced more National Champion Sale and Show ewes than any other state in the nation! If you are looking to network and learn more about the Southdown breed, consider becoming a member of the Wisconsin Southdown Association. Your membership includes: • Your name, farm and contact information listed on our association website • Receive emails alerting you to ASBA issues impacting the breed • A connection to an experienced network of shepherds, dedicated to advancing the breed in the state of Wisconsin

Youth membership is free! Please see our website for more information about how to become a member.
