The Parks & Recreation Department accepts registration at the Grand Theatre Center for the Arts Box office, Monday-Thursday 8am to 6pm and Fridays 8am to 5pm, excluding holidays. Resident Discount (“Res-Disc.”) vs. “Cost” Aquatics Programs 8 Your resident address must fall within one of three Tracy Lessons 9-11 Zip Codes (95376, 95377, or 95304) to receive our resident discount. In addition, your address must be within Tracy Camps Computer Engineering 12 city limits. If your address has five digits or more, then your Science 12 home may be outside the Tracy city limits. It is possible to Lego Engineering 13 live in one of the three Tracy Zip Codes and still not live Sports 14 -15 within Tracy city limits. Aquatics

Swim Programs Recreational Swim

Come enjoy a day of swimming and sun at the pool. Children 2 and under are free when accompanied by a paying adult. Children under 7 are admitted only when accompanied by a paying adult. Location: Joe Wilson Pool Dates: Open weekends June 3 through August 27, and weekdays June 5 through August 4. *Extended dates/time, Fridays, 6/16, 6/30, 7/14, 7/28, 12:30pm to 5pm. Time: M-F 12pm to 3pm, Sa-Su 12:30pm to 5pm Fees: $2 per drop-in, $15 for a 10-visit pass. Fees are collected at the swimming pool. Note: No recreational swim 7/4

Lap Swimming

Enjoy a refreshing workout to end your day by swimming laps. Lap swimming is an excellent low-impact way to stay in shape and lose weight. This program is offered on a drop-in basis, so come by and enjoy the benefits of this great way to exercise. Lap swimming starts June 5. Location: Joe Wilson Pool Days: M-Th No lap swimming 7/4 Time: 3:30pm to 7pm Fees: $3 per drop-in, $25 10-visit swim pass. Fees are collected at the swimming pool.

Senior Water Exercise

The City of Tracy is pleased to introduce a Senior Water Exercise Class. Seniors over the age of 50 are welcome to participate in a great low impact workout improving cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, strength and coordination through the use of water weights and water noodles. Both men and women are invited to attend. Water shoes are strongly recommended. Senior water exercise starts June 10. Location: Joe Wilson Pool Days: Saturdays Time: 11am to 11:50am Age: 50+ Fees: $4 per drop-in, $20 for a 6-visit pass. Fees are collected at the swimming pool. Senior Water Exercise starts June 10.

Come out and enjoy a great low impact workout! This class is designed to help improve cardiovascular endurance, muscle tone, strength and coordination through the use of water weights and water noodles. This is the perfect opportunity to meet new people, create a healthy fitness routine and have fun! Both men and women are invited to attend. Water shoes are strongly recommended. Parks Make Life Better!

Lesson Descriptions Tiny Tots

This program consists of two levels and is designed for ages 3-5. This class will teach basic water skills to your child such as proper water entry, kicking and floating, breath control and water safety information. Children registered for Tiny Tots classes must be ready to learn without parent participation. Most children will need to repeat these classes.

Tiny Tots Level A (3-5 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Tiny Tots Level B, your child must be comfortable submerging their head fully underwater for about 5 seconds.

Tiny Tots Level B (3-5 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Swim Skills Level 2, your child must be able to travel 5 yards, bob three times, and tread water for 15 seconds, all without assistance.

Swim Skills

The Swim Skills program consists of four levels and is designed for youth ages 6-12 and strong preschool swimmers. Participants will be placed in a class on the first day of the session according to their proficiency.

Swim Skills Level 1 (4-12 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Swim Skills Level 2, your child must be able to travel 5 yards, bob three times, and tread water for 15 seconds, all without assistance.

Swim Skills Level 2 (4-12 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Swim Skills Level 3, your child must be able to travel 10 yards on front and back, and change direction in the water.

Swim Skills Level 3 (4-12 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Swim Skills Level 4, your child must be able to complete a head first entry in a seated position, jump into deep water, swim 15 yards on front and back, and tread water for 30 seconds.

Swim Skills Level 4 (4-12 years) In order to complete this level and move on to Swim Skills Level 5, you child must be able to complete open turns on front and back, swim front crawl and elementary backstroke 25 yards and breaststroke 15 yards.

Advanced Swim Skills Level 6 (6-12 years) Objectives of this level are to refine swimming and water safety skills taught in earlier levels, focusing on endurance and technique. Students also learn principles of training and how to evaluate their own levels of fitness. Activities may include: swimming 500 yards continuously, demonstrating turns while swimming, and learning various training techniques.

Youth Girls Softball Camp

The City of Tracy, in conjunction with All American Sports Academy, presents 4-day softball camp June 5 to June 8 at the Tracy Sports Complex. This camp is open to all players 7 to 14 years old, and all skill levels. Camp includes video analysis, hitting, bunting, slapping, pitching, catching, defensive skills, sliding, game situations and more. The camp will be directed by Debbie Nelson and assisted by high school coaches and college players. Debbie is a past NCAA All American, who coached college softball for 10 years, 1 year in the National Pro Fastpitch league, at the high school level and has 13 years of experience as a Nike Softball Camp Director and skills instructor. Challenger Sports British Soccer Camps

The HIT & RUN Baseball/Softball camps offered by the National Academy of Athletics offer beginner to intermediate players the opportunity to build a solid foundation in both Baseball and Softball. Individual instruction is given in both sports, by college level players. Campers love these programs because each day is filled with fundamental skill progression drills, easy to understand instruction, as well as games & competition. Boys & Girls receive positive reinforcement throughout the day, to help build their confidence. This is a great place to develop players’ individual skills in a fun and positive environment. The staff uses positive reinforcement to help motivate the campers.

The most popular soccer camp in the country, our 1,000 touches curriculum includes a variety of foot skills, technical drills, tactical practices, freestyle soccer, small sided games and a mini tournament. Middle School can be tough! We think girls should learn to appreciate one another and build each other up by being confident in who they are, and kind and compassionate to others. Be inspired through impact sessions & key messages from leaders and inspiring individuals in the community. Make new friends, have fun, explore your interests and passions, and learn how special you are just for being you!

Session 1: Loving You for You

Learn skincare tips, (i.e. prepping before makeup, washing face, using a moisturize, mask, etc.) to create a beautiful natural glow. We’ll talk about steps on how to deal with female bullying, cyberbullying, develop confidence/self-esteem, and stand up against peer pressures. Junior Giants

Junior Giants Baseball

In cooperation with the San Francisco Giants and the City of Tracy is once again pleased to offer our Junior Giants Youth Baseball program, the City’s largest single recreation program. The program is open to both boys and girls ages 5-13 years old. Age divisions are based on the participant’s age as of June 1, 2017. Junior Giants is different than most other youth sports programs in the following ways: *It is a non-competitive league *It is a free program *It focuses on many life skills, not just sports Participants will practice and play games each week at various City ball fields. Each participant will receive a complimentary Giants cap and Junior Giants t-shirt. They will also be eligible to participate in several Junior Giants programs that offer prizes and awards. The goal of the Senior Center exercise program is to provide you with a safe and structured program to promote good health. Work out every day or 3 times each week to fit your individualized fitness needs. Standing and chair exercise programs are provided. All classes are led by licensed, qualified instructors. * All exercises are adaptable to fit your current fitness level. * Bring a towel and water bottle. * Comfortable, loose clothing and gym shoes are recommended.
