MPR MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM UWA Sports classic group fitness space, the MultiPurpose Room (MPR) plays host to the majority of our Les Mills™ classes. OUT OUTSIDE

Due to the final stages of the UWA Recreation & Fitness Centre redevelopment, various group fitness classes will have to run outside of the Centre at times. Participants for these classes should meet their instructor at the Centre Front Desk.

CR CIRCUIT ROOM

Kitted out with 30 streamlined spin bikes, as well as pin loaded weight machines and floor gear, the Circuit Room (CR) is the perfect place for all cycling and circuit style classes.

CR CARDIO ROOM

The brand new cardio training area located on the ground level of the UWA Recreation & Fitness Centre features our state-of-the-art TechnoGym® cardio gear, pin-loaded weight machines, kineses machines and warm-up / cool-down areas.

GROUPFITNESSCLASSES Take your fitness to the next level with Group Fitness at UWA Sports. Our classes are led by highly trained instructors and are a great way to get motivated, bust over a plateau, or simply have a good time. Try a class out today! BODYATTACK™: BODYATTACK™ is the sports-inspired cardio workout for building strength and stamina. This high-energy interval training class combines athletic aerobic movements with strength and stabilization exercises. BODYBALANCE™: An energetic mix of eastern disciplines like yoga and tai chi, with popular new methods such as pilates. Controlled breathing, concentration, and a carefully structured series of stretches and poses creates a holistic workout that brings the body into a state of harmony and balance. BODYCOMBAT™: An MMA inspired workout that combines moves and stances from a range of self-defence disciplines like karate, boxing and taekwon-do. A fierce, energetic experience which raises fitness levels throughout the whole body.

BODYPUMP™: A 60 minute class using barbells and adjustable weights to tone and condition muscles whilst raising metabolic rate for rapid fat-burning. The “world’s fastest way to get in shape”. RPM™: The ultimate ride. A safe, motivational, aerobic experience designed to get you into the zone fast. Ride to the rhythm of energetic music, and sweat your way to a natural high. CX WORX™: Based on cutting edge scientific research, this latest 30 minute Les Mills™ class hones your abs, glutes, back and obliques with revolutionary core training. Fitbox: Practice your boxing skills, improve your agility and functional core strength. Fitbox combines agility drills, partner boxing and challenging abdominal exercises for an effective full body workout.

UWA Recreation & Fitness Centre Group Fitness Timetable

30min Gym Blitz: This is a 30min resistance based circuit class held in the gym. This express class is aimed at giving participants a full body, resistance based workout using machine & floor based exercises in a fun group training environment. Participants are advised to meet the instructor upstairs in the Circuit Room.

Quick Cardio 20: A 20min cardiovascular based class held in the gym. This express class is suited for individuals who are looking for a thorough cardio based warm up with stretching. By the end of the class participants will be warm & ready to continue on with their own training in the gym.

Jump Start: Jump start your calorieburning engine with a mixture of cardiovascular and resistance training. Designed to motivate you and keep you on track with your long term fitness and weight loss goals. Open to all levels of fitness. Zumba®: Dance away stress and reinvigorate yourself with Zumba®. The Zumba® program fuses hypnotic latin rhythms and easy-to-follow moves in a group workout environment. Spin: Take on the terrain with your inspiring team coach who leads the pack through hills, flats, mountain peaks, speed work and interval training. Suitable for all fitness levels.

Participants are advised to meet the instructor downstairs in the Cardio Room.
