Grading System

Language of Instruction is Portuguese. Foreign Students who do not understand Portuguese follow regular classes through a tutoring system. The School of Education has a limited offer of courses in English during the Second Semester – Environmental Education, Social Sciences, European Studies, Place, Culture and Society. For availability of these and other courses at the different Schools, please check with Schools. A Portuguese Language Course is offered free of charge to all incoming Erasmus students, worth 5 ECTS credits. The Portuguese grading system is based on a 0 to 20 scale (corresponding ECTS grade within brackets): Less than 10 : FAIL 10: Minimum pass grade (E) 11 - 12: SUFFICIENT (D) 13 - 14: GOOD (C) 15 – 17: VERY GOOD (B) 18 - 20: EXCELLENT (A)
