Levels A1 A2 B1 B2 CEFR Can Do English A new series of four courses for Turkish preparatory school university students prepared by colleagues from Middle East Technical University. Can Do English has been written for Turkish students. Each course uses the competence-based approach unique to CEFR and puts special emphasis on raising the language skills vital for success in university. Can Do English combines international experience and standards with best practice in Turkey, bringing the language to life in productive lessons and out of class activities. For Students: Can Do English is relevant to their environment, culture and aspirations. Lessons deal with familiar topics and students build skills and confidence to extend their English beyond the classroom. For Teachers: Our goal is to support language teachers in applying the Common European Framework of Reference to their daily work, by providing a practical and balanced course at each level of the CEFR. We provide direction and resources for teachers in how to deliver lessons that will help Turkish university prep school students to acquire the competences they need to succeed in university and beyond. Lessons are productive and integrated with assessment materials. For Universities: Can Do English is aligned to the CEFR international standard for language teaching and learning and the associated Core Inventory for General English language points and lexis, and English Profile of vocabulary. Can Do English is written and produced by a team of experienced English language instructors and course designers at METU Department of Modern Languages.
