Yarn Play: Knit or Crochet Do you need a refresher for turning yarn into a functional object or do you want to learn the basic techniques? Learn how to knit or crochet, read a pattern, expand your stitch repertoire, practice increase and decrease methods, or simply get the instruction that will assist you with your chosen project. The instructor's extensive reference library and collection of current publications will be available for you and provide inspiration for the project of your choice. Work at your own pace. Mosaic Mania Immerse yourself in the artist’s studio where “tons” of colorful ceramic, glass, and granite fragments await your hand to transform them into a mirror, wall hanging or flowerpot. You work with ceramic tiles, marble, granite, pottery, dishes and glass, embedding the tesserae directly into mortar, then grouting to fill in the gaps. All tools, materials and supplies ($50 value) plus 4 hours open studio time included. Scholarship recipients pay $60. Senior discount and 50% scholarship recipients pay $137. Instructor: Susan C. Meet the Teacher! Susan Wright actively weaves, crochets, knits and needle felts. She is constantly working on ways to combine all of these passions. She has enjoyed the process of translating almost 30 years of studio knowledge into projects for students in all age ranges She is an official “townie” – born and raised in Ann Arbor. Except for her college years at MSU, Susan has lived here her entire life.
