Every Princess Needs One of These While a tiara may not be as artsy as the birdcage or as fresh looking as a beautiful hair clip or headband, it seems like the perfect choice for our highland fairy tale wedding and my princess-themed bridal look.
So I have my tiara, but that doesn’t mean I’m going veil-less. In fact, I’d like to wear both the tiara and a veil on my wedding day, but I’m a bit unsure of how to proceed. For starters, I’d like to point out that I don’t plan on purchasing a veil because they seem to be one of the most over-priced pieces of all bridal garb. Unfortunately, they also seem to be one of those wedding necessities in my mind. What I do know is my ideal look. I want a simple tulle veil, with no added lace or beading or crystals or pearls. I think the tiara would be complimented best by a simpler veil. What I don’t know is how long it should be! I’m absolutely uninterested and uninspired about veil length to be honest. The shoulder, elbow, and fingertip lengths are what I’m leaning towards, but I’m not drawn to anything in particular. I know I haven’t been too detailed when it comes to what I’ll be wearing on the
big day. I told you guys about my shoe options, gave you a preview of my makeup, and talked about getting-ready attire, but other than that I haven’t revealed much. Today that changes, because I want to talk to you guys about hair accessories for the wedding. Now, I wanted to find something fun and unique to wear in my hair for the reception. I will be wearing a veil during the ceremony, and as much as I love it with my dress, it just wouldn’t be a good choice for the reception. It’s long— we’re talking cathedral plus extra length added, and it would just be a nuisance during dinner and dancing. I’m actually really OK with taking it off, however, because that means I’ll get to do somewhat of a wardrobe change! I won’t be changing my dress altogether, but we’ll bustle the train and remove my veil for a more fun alternative.
I started off thinking I might want to keep the veil theme going, and just trade one veil for another. I quickly decided this was not going to match my dress that entire well, and I wasn’t even sure I could pull off the look. Can’t wait to show off this beauty at the reception, and show you guys how it looked! Has anyone else been looking for hair accessories lately? The amount of choices is just unbelievable!
