Welcome to the Waynesboro Golf & Country Club Newsletter!

We have lots to tell you about WGCC in this edition of the newsletter! There are lots of great and exciting things happening at WGCC! Be sure to read the whole newsletter so you do not miss a thing that is happening at the club. If you made a hole in one, tell us about! Whatever it is that you would like to share that you feel should be added to the newsletter, just let us know at: We are very excited to have so many great things happening at the club and can not wait to share the progress with you each week.

What’s Happening at the Club.........

There are lots of things to share with you this week about WGCC. First, this Sunday is our first Brunch. We want to continue to have brunch for our members but it will depend on participation. Reservations are recommended and can be made by calling the office. More details, including the menu, will be listed later in the newsletter.

The 4th of July Open House was a great success! Thank you to all of our members and guests that attended and spent the 4th of July with us at WGCC. The weekend of July 21-22 will be our official grand opening weekend. Starting on Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce, followed by a celebration with a live radio broadcast on Saturday. We will be starting social events on weeknights very soon. If you have any social events that you would like to suggest, please email me at

We are now offering a Non Resident Membership at WGCC. If you have a friend that would be interested, let them know that they can contact the office at 540-943-1131 for further details. They must live over 100 miles away to qualify. They can not have a residence within 100 miles and also have a residence outside of the 100 miles to qualify for the non resident membership. The Merv Wooten Invitational Golf Tournament is coming up on July 14th with tee times starting at 11:00 a.m.. As of the date of this newsletter, they still had a few openings if you are interested in signing up for the tournament visit our website at for more information. NEW! Kids under 13 golf free at WGCC when accompanied by a member. Bring your kids or grandkids to the club and introduce them to the wonderful game of golf.

Brunch will be served from 10-2 - Sunday Reservation recommended Call 540-943-1131 A brunch buffet with smoked salmon, ham carving station, petite quiche and much more!

Restaurant Hours: New Tuesday hours! NEW DINING HOURS: TUESDAY - 11-5:30 WEDNESDAY - 11- 9 THURSDAY - 11 - 9 FRIDAY - 11- 9 SATURDAY - 11-5 SUNDAY - Closed accept for days that we are open for Brunch.

The new website is up and running and has a new url: New features on the website include, the ability to pay your bill online and schedule your tee times. In addition, there is a calendar of events with full details on the new site that will keep you up to date on the latest happenings at the club.

Member Notes ... Did you know....... That our Club Champions, Senior Club Champion and Men’s Club Champion are Father and Son! Brad Michael is our Men’s Club Champion

And....... Our Senior Club Champion is his Father Kenny Michael! Congratulations to our Father and Son duo, Kenny and Brad! Like father, like Son! Here’s to many years of playing golf together and many memories to come.

WGCC Official Grand Opening Weekend Come Celebrate our official grand opening wtih us the weekend of July 21-22 at WGCC! The festivities will begin on Friday at 10:00 a.m. with an official ribbon cutting ceremony by the Great Augusta Chamber of Commerce. Saturday we will have Hitkicker 99.7 radio station broadcasting live from the club and a celebration of our Grand Opening. We will send out an email with all of the details of the weekend, please mark your calendar and join in the celebration of the grand opening!

Upcoming in our next edition.... We had a very special guest this week at WGCC, Brendon Sipe joined us from Yorktown, Virginia. Brendon was in town visiting his grandparents who live in Waynesboro. He is 8 years old and was on the course every day, perhaps some of you had the chance to see his swing. Look for the upcoming article in next weeks edition of the newsletter and hear all about this amazing 8 year old with the 150-170 yard consistant golf swing.
