Meet the Team James

Business Development Manager James is our Business Development Manager. He’s spent over six years in fundraising raising over £1.5million through charity challenges, so he knows all about charity challenge events. Supporting you through every step, he has great stories and tips from his latest adventures on Kilimanjaro, the Great Wall and Mount Toubkal.


OPERATIONS Manager Ex-tour leader Emma is our resident operations sensation. She has travelled across the globe and there aren’t many countries left on her list. Her favourite RWC challenge? The Great Wall of China. It was beyond her expectations.


Challenge Event Coordinator Native Tasmanian and keen traveller Rebecca takes care of your challenge from start to finish. From film sets to weddings Rebecca’s groove is planning and making sure everything is done in time and to target. She knows her way around Mont Blanc and has participated in charity events throughout South East Asia .

Alice Business Coordinator Alice is always scouting out new opportunities for charity partners to go on adventures and raise big funds. Alice is a big fan of the Pyrenees.

Meet some of our guides… Julio Starting out as porter, followed by stints as cook and assistant guide, he’s now been a licensed guide for over six years. With over 100 Kilimanjaro summits under his belt, Julio recently attempted to reclaim the world record for fastest ascent and descent for Tanzania. Pipped at the post, he still completed it in 11 hours and 8 minutes. Pretty amazing, right?

Mohamed A licensed guide since 2002, Mohamed has climbed Toubkal over 300 times. He is a local legend who grew up in the shadow of the mountain and can now make a full descent in 40 minutes.

Pricing and Costs (Boring but important)

Here we lay out how it works. Remember our pricing is fully transparent and we have no hidden fees in our small print. What you see is what you get. Sign up to your challenge and pay your registration fee, it’s the non refundable guarantee of your place. You then have three options: 1) Fundraising – raise the target amount and your charity funds your place, they retain 50% plus any additional fundraising 2) Self-Fund – cover the cost of the trip 3) Flexi-Fund – pay a set contribution to reduce your fundraising target. Your charity will retain 50% of funds raised plus any additional fundraising. *Split registration fees available, pay 50% up front and the remainder at the end of the following month

FAQs How much do I have to raise? That depends on the challenge. See the Pricing and Costs page for the options available to you on page 18. How much of this money goes to charity? The fundraising target amount is split 50:50 between the charity and RWC. On our side it covers the costs of the trip. Any money you raise over the minimum target is kept solely by the charity. How will I be able to raise all that money? Easily. You’ll be fully supported with tips and ideas by the well experienced team at RWC as well as your charity. Am I fit enough? All our challenges require a basic level of fitness and a commitment to training prior to departure. Check out the challenge gradings on page 5. What’s included? For a full breakdown of what’s included (including meals, snacks, ticket, tours etc.), please refer to the challenge info pack on our website. What happens if I don’t hit my fundraising target? Your charity will do everything to ensure you hit your fundraising target. In the unlikely event that you are unable to meet the fundraising target, additional options will be available. Will there be doctors on my challenge? With all our bespoke groups we send expedition medics with the group from the UK. On open challenges, we arrange fully trained local medics to accompany the group. All have experience in expedition medicine. Who will be leading my trek? Fantastic English speaking local guides. Our guides are like family to us and we can’t wait for you to meet them. Do the guides speak English? Yes. All of our guides speak good English so you’ll be able to get to know each other and learn more about the area in which you’re travelling. However, we always suggest you learn a few words of the local languages, it enriches your experience.
