the answer: Sellers expect to pay the following on the closing statement: If a real estate agent was used in the sale of the home, the Seller will pay the agent's commission. The Seller also typically pays the attorney fee for deed preparation, excise tax or revenue stamps and wire or express mails fees for sending any payoffs to lien holders. The Seller will also pay any mortgages secured by the property being and their portion of property taxes at closing. Also, any agreed on items such as a home warranty are typically paid on the Seller side of the Settlement Statement.
