Get a foot (and hand)

up on Spa Treatments!

Goal The look on this face! Those people who had the best experience in a spa treatment noted that every part of them was considered. We have noticed that facial treatments frequently leave out people’s feet and pay little attention to their hands. We use our hands and our feet more than any other part of our body so let’s give them some love! A good start! At the beginning of your treatment, while you are explaining the service, kneel in front of the client, pick up their foot and wrap it in a warm steamed towel and rub. Then, do the same thing for the hands before you leave the room and have them get on the table. When you return, apply butter, oil or lotion to their feet and hands and massage, it’s a fun opening for them. It takes minutes! Even during a 50 minute facial, take the extra couple of minutes to cleanse the feet with a warm towel and apply warmed body butter, lotion or oil. It takes two minutes and then you can wrap them in a warm towel or foot mitts (see pages 83 and 203-205). Attention to detail! During a treatment, take a brush with bath gel or soap and scrub the feet, then take warm steamed towels and remove the product. Next, apply warmed body butter, lotion or oil, and massage feet. Now wrap in a warm towel or foot mitts. Now for the hands, using a wash cloth, and either bath gel or soap, cleanse the hands, remove soap with steamed towels and apply warmed body butter, lotion or oil, and massage. Finish by wrapping with a warm towel or hand mitts. A beautiful closing! As you end the treatment and you sit the client up, apply a small drop of peppermint oil to the wrists and ankles. This way you’ll send them away with cool peppermint tingling on their wrists and ankles.
