Through a Tram Window [Man with a tobacco pipe]: Every day I take the tram Seal through W.E. Avenue to go to my office located in W.E. Ave No.2-19. I love W.E. Avenue, it is a modern one. The architecture facade looks free and refined. Dense people live here. Everything moves in an efficiently ordered and convinced step. But the reason I choose to ride this tram is more than this. The fascination of W.E. Street is that the connected sidestreets extended into all directions. And every sort of original landscape and lifestyle come in at the end of streets. Just now, through A Street I saw broad farm fields and the brilliant red horizon against the pale blue sky. You have to taste those farmers’ fresh vegetables and fruits. The oldest tiles are maintained well on the square at the end of Y Street. It is where various people go to the cheerful outdoor party in the summer. K Street leads to silhouetted rolling mountains, dense forests, and animals hidden in the shadow. H Street is connected to a curved historical canal, where people in traditional costumes are painting their boathouse in different colors. Are you not going to stay longer in City X? Take the tram on W.E. Avenue, everything I told you will appear through the tram’s window...

[Designer A]: If we compare the high-density urban patches to cells, and the low-density urban patches (that are converted from natural patches) to axons and dendrites ...
[Designer H]: Ah, never!
Assumption: High-density archipelago of urban islands are bundled together with low-density cities. The two together evolve a positive and effective metabolism system within cities, while providing a continuous and stable ecological corridor for the migration/ dispersion of plants and animals. Perhaps this city X, like the general blueprint of organic nerve cells, will be a symbiotic sibling with nature...
[Designer K]: Have you looked at the manuscripts of neuron doctrine of Santiago Ramón y Cajal? The axons and dendrites that interconnecting nerve cells grow with the cells and are the keys to neural impulse conduction.

What can green be besides a color? Going through the small bubbles of industrialization and globalization, in modern cities there are ideas and images of neatly trimmed gardens, vibrant urban parks with social activities, street trees that turn to be cold grey in the autumn, continuous wetland, lake, and mountain with thousands of miraculous wild creatures.

在盧梭的《愛彌兒》的一書中，他設想的小孩在遠 離都市的自然環境中生長，那些在大自然中的發現 與受到的挑戰使他獲得力量與鼓勵。反思此書，如 今的兒童遊樂設施是否激發了孩子對自然的興趣？ 這個方案是為3-6歲的兒童進行的遊樂設施設計。 通過對植物特性與兒童行為的研究，旨在激發兒童 對自然材料的感知，為都市中的小朋友創造一個簡 單有趣的能探索自然的好去處。設計是簡易的，因 此任何群體都可能擁有它。
In Jean-Jacques Rousseauâ€™s fiction - [ Emile or on Education ], he imagined a child grew up far away from a city and instead, got merged in the wild nature where he absorbed energy and courage. And then the profound realization of being human took place. Plenty of early childhood education studies have shown that during age 3-6, children prefer to explore nature rather than get involved in social activities. Is todayâ€™s playground a fun place for early age child to explore nature?
This project is about plant playground design especially for children aged between 3 and 6 years old. Emphasising on the research of children behavior and place-specific plant, the plant playground aims to inspire childrenâ€™s perception towards living material, bridge the distance between children and nature, create a memory that will stay with children and evoke happiness, energy, courage in their entire lifetime- just as what Rousseau imagined and believed in his book. The design strategy should be simple, so every community has the potential to obtain one.

In Street / Module Maintainance
In the linear streetscape, multi-scaled climbing equipment and trampolines are constructed above the plants in order to protect shrubs from over breaking, as well as support plant exploration behaviors: 1) touch/observe leaves/flowers 2) jump to create different fragrant flows through the air. Rather than visual pleasure, the green becomes a more complex media.

In Plaza In larger plazas, the plant playground is constructed with the same module. Each module has its unique fragrance palette(see A, B, C below). Through rotating the 3 module piece, the design creates flexible gathering space for potential social activities, as well as design complex circulations for children to discover the playground.

西班牙的园艺历史悠久。现代都市中的公园 是否有可能借鉴过往的园艺技术？场地位于 巴 塞 罗 那 的 历 史 城 区 Ciutat Vella和 新 兴 的 Eixample之 间 的 过 渡 地 带 。 通 过 重 新 思 考 3 种 植 维护的方法，方案构思了一个由当地植物群 落组成的新型公园框架，旨在创造高效的管 理方式，可以使得公园随着时间发生改变： 每5年、每10年、或者更久...就像巴塞罗那 本身那样：古老而新鲜。
Spain has a long complex history of garden management. Is it possible to apply the horticulture technique to urban park at city scale? The new public park is located along the transitional zone between Ciutat Vella - the historical city center of Barcelona and Eixample- contemporary urban expansion. Rethinking the potential of 3 plant management methods, the design conceives of an innovative park framework made by local vegetation communities. Rather than figure out a design solution for a 100% finished public park, the concept emphasizes on building a matrix system that is efficient to create unique space through the time, as well as adaptive to multiple public events. In terms of time scope, this park always in transition celebrates the dynamic and vibrant city character of Barcelona. The tree grows up with the city, every people can feel this ‘new and old park‘ easily in their daily life.
