Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day Remembrance ceremonies will take place across Reading on the 11th of November.
On Remembrance Sunday Reading’s main service and parade, will take place in the town centre on Sunday 11th November from 9.25am. The Remembrance Service will begin at Reading Minster at 9.25am, all are welcome to join the service. The service will start promptly, please can we ask you to arrive and be seated by 9.20am. The service will be followed by a parade through the town centre, led by the Waterloo Band and Bugles of the 7 Rifles, to the Forbury Gardens. The Remembrance Ceremony at the Forbury War Memorial will include the laying of wreaths and a two minute silence at 11am.
Also join Jelly who will be parading after the Civic procession from the church with 100 large poppies made by local school children at workshops across Reading in the lead up to Remembrance. For more information visit www.jelly.org.uk
TILEHURST AND CAVERSHAM SERVICES Caversham Service
This years’ Service will take place, as usual, at the War Memorial in Christchurch Meadows at 10.45 am. Groups will assemble in Christchurch Meadow under the supervision of their Group Leaders then proceed to the War Memorial for the start of the Service. At the conclusion of the service there will be a parade through Caversham where the salute will be taken on the Library steps.
This years’ service will take place as usual at the Tilehurst War Memorial just before 11am. The service is run by the Tilehurst British Legion and for further information contact the Legion on 0118 942 2906.
