Please note that our events today will take place in the Abbey Gateway. The Gateway has no step free access and there are uneven steps and floors. Buggies and pushchairs can be stored on the ground floor while you take part in the activities. Abbey Gateway Activity Cart Visit us and enjoy a range of Abbey Quarter themed craft ideas. Free, drop in* Abbey Gateway Tours Join us for a tour inside the newly restored medieval Abbey Gateway and learn about this listed building’s fascinating history and its role in the Abbey Quarter. Hear about the Abbey monks,visiting royalty, links to novelist Jane Austen and the vital conservation work done to bring it back to life. All ages, 45-minute tour starting at 11am, 1pm & 3pm, meet in the Story of Reading Gallery £5, booking essential (see our website or call us)
