Facts & Numbers Career Fair Attendance by Major Most Earth & Energy students attend the Engineering Career Fair which is one of the largest career fairs on campus and is mostly geared toward technical majors. The Fall 2016 Engineering Career Fair hosted 131 employers (a 12.67% decrease over the previous year) with 1977 students attending. Earth & Energy students also attended the 2016 Sooner Showcase and the 2017 Spring Career Fair. The Sooner Showcase, geared toward business majors, hosted 151 employers and 1832 students attended. The 2017 Spring Career Fair is geared towards all majors; 129 companies attended along with 1275 students. The chart below shows the attendance broken down by major.

Recruiting On-Campus Interviews by Major Many students participate in on-campus interviews. The total interview calculation reflects all interviews. There were 45 companies that recruited Earth and Energy students by conducting 370 on-campus interviews. It is important to note the number of interviews is down for the second straight year. In addition to on-campus interviews, 53 companies posted 72 jobs on the job board. 16-17

First Destination Data Each year Career Services collects first destination data for all Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy undergraduate students. Data is collected utilizing several methods including, but not limited to, in-class surveys, email campaigns, individual department exit interviews/surveys, and digital research. Activities Overview • Maintained the Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy Online Resume Book • Met with Earth and Energy students throughout each semester to help with job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related issues • Conducted numerous mock interviews with Earth and Energy students to better prepare them for real interviews • Visited with a total of 437 students during classes the first week of each semester to educate students about Career Services • Consistently updated bulletin boards with information regarding career fairs, on-campus interviews, recruiting, career planning workshops, and career & internship opportunities • Delivered a career fair prep presentation to undergrads for the OU Society of Petroleum Engineers • Conducted a resume writing presention to both sections of the MPGE Technical Communications class with 180 students • Provided on-campus interview opportunities for Earth and Energy majors in the Career Services office • Posted jobs on Handshake (career management platform) and emailed students about openings as they became available • Shared information about workshops, career fairs, full-time, and internship opportunities with students via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn • Updated the Career Services Mewbourne College of Earth & Energy webpage on HIREsooner.com, listing specific information for Earth and Energy majors
