Career Fair Attendance by Major The Depatment of Aviation hosted its first career fair during the fall semester. The event hosted 18 employers and approximately 30 students attended (due to technical difficulties we were not able to capture an accurate number for the student attendees). Aviation students also attended several other career fairs: the Sooner Showcase (largely geared toward business students), the College of Engineering Career Fair (geared toward technical students), and the 2017 Spring Career Fair (geared toward all students). The chart below shows Aviation student attendance at those career fairs.

Recruiting On-Campus Interviews by Major Many students participate in on-campus interviews. There were three companies that recruited Aviation students by conducting on-campus interviews through Career Services.

First Destination Data Each year Career Services collects first destination data for all Department of Aviation undergraduate students. Data is collected utilizing several methods including, but not limited to, in-class surveys, email campaigns, individual department exit interviews/surveys, and digital research. Data collection starts at the beginning of each academic year and concludes six months after May graduation. It is important to note this data is self-reported by the students. Activities Overview • Maintained the Department of Aviation Online Resume Book • Met with Aviation students throughout each semester to help with job search, resume writing, interviewing skills, and other career-related issues • Conducted numerous mock interviews to better prepare Aviation students for real interviews • Spoke to the Aviation Professional Development class during both fall and spring semesters covering Career Services’ resources, and delivered a Dining Etiquette presentation • Spoke to the Aviation Orientation class introducing Career Services to incoming Aviation students • Attended the Aviation Banquet • Consistently updated students with information regarding career fairs, on-campus interviews, recruiting, career planning workshops, and full-time career & internship opportunities via email, Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn • Provided on-campus interview opportunities for Department of Aviation majors in the Career Services office • Posted jobs on Handshake (career management platform) and emailed students about openings as they became available • Updated Career Services Aviation webpage on HIREsooner.com, listing specific information for Aviation majors
