The Strange Life of Bob By: Sophie Gourinovitch
Bob was a llama with snow white fur. He lived with his mom, dad, and adopted sister Mystic, who was a fairy. They lived in Llama land with a lot of other llamas. Bob was only 4 years old when he came up with an idea. The idea to be a fairy like Mystic. You see, in Llama land they only liked llamas and thought that llamas were the best. One day it was nice and warm outside, the sun was smiling at Bob and Mystic as they walked to llamaentery school. At Llamaentery school Bob got bullied because he always pretended to be a fairy. Not many people liked him. The only person who liked him was sister Mystic, because she was a fairy too. The president, Sir Llama allowed her to live in llama land with Bob and go to his school because he secretly liked fairies too.

It was a hot summer day when Bob and Mystic were heading to school for their first day of 5th grade. Bob wore his shiny and glittery fairy wings to school and Mystic with her not so shiny and glittery wings flew beside him staring at his brilliant wings. “I wish my wings looked like that,” said Mystic frowning. “They aren’t real,” said Bob, glumly. When they walked in they sat in their seats. Everybody was talking and typing on their phones. The students around Bob stole his fairy wings and tossed them around the class while the teacher wasn’t looking. “Hey! Give me my wings back!” screamed Bob, trying to catch his wings. But when Bob caught them... so did his classmate Brett. Brett was the biggest bully in Llamaentery school. They both started pulling at the wings until.... they ripped. Everybodys jaws dropped all the way to the ground. Brett picked up the rest of the delicate and fake wings and tore them to pieces. Bob’s eyes started tearing up and Bob started to cry. Everybody in his class started laughing. Bob ran out of the classroom with Mystic trailing behind him. Bob ran all the way back home and up to his room. He slammed the door behind him and locked it. He went into his closet, sat in the corner and started sobbing. Mystic was knocking on the door and trying to get in. Soon it was time to go to bed and Bob got into his pajamas that had fairies on them and sat in bed and cried himself to sleep. The next day he brought his rainbowcolored fairy wand that had pink and blue ribbon wrapped around it to the breakfast table. He finished eating breakfast with Mystic and they went off to school. “Are you ok?” Mystic asked Bob. Bob didn’t answer. They were silent all the way to school. When they sat at their desks while the teachers weren’t looking, Brett and his friends took Bob’s puny fairy wand and broke it in half. Bob was so shocked and so upset.
“Tomorrow I will come to school as a fairy! Just wait!” yelled Bob.
He stormed out of the room and went home with Mystic trailing behind him again. They ran all the way home and Bob went into his room and this time Mystic was fast enough to get inside and she flew to his bed. “Mystic?” said Bob. “Can you turn me into a fairy?” Mystic thought for a moment. Then an hour. Then right before dinner she replied “Alright, I can try but it probably won’t work so don’t blame me if I turn you into a toad or something,” She finally said. She quickly found her wand and started swishing and flicking her crazily. Gosh I hope this works thought Bob afraid that it will turn him into a monkey. What will happen if it doesn’t work? I will get in SO much trouble!!! Mystic thought in her head. She mumbled some words but Bob couldn’t
hear what she was saying. Everything started to go in slow motion and Bob got very dizzy. So he shut his eyes very tight and hoped that the spell would work. “Alright, well I tried,” she said nervously. Bob opened his eyes and went to the mirror. The only thing that changed was the color of his wool which was now bright purple. “Oh” said Bob, glumly.
“Kids time for dinner!!!” their mother yelled. They quickly tried to wash off the purple but it didn’t work. Then they tried to spray his wool but the white hairspray bottle was empty. “Oh it’s no use!” cried Bob “ Let’s just go downstairs and hope that they won’t notice. They crept downstairs and sat down at the table. Their
dad was reading the newspaper and their mother was still finishing up a little bit of cooking. “Um, hi dad,” said Bob and Mystic nervously. “Hello Bob, hello Mystic how was your day?” asked their father while looking up from his newspaper. “OH MY GOSH! WHY ARE YOU PURPLE!?” cried their father. Their mother turned around and her eyes bulged. Their mom and dad looked at each other, then back at Bob. then back at each other, then back at Bob. Mystic and Bob looked at the ground, ashamed of what they had done. “What were you doing up there?” asked their mother. “Well I wanted to become a fairy and so I asked Mystic if she could turn me into a fairy. But I guess it didn’t work so I turned purple,” replied Bob. “Why would you want to be a fairy and not a llama?” asked their dad. “Well...I don’t know I guess because... well...I don’t know I just really like fairies and how they can fly and cast spells and all of those fairy things,” said Bob. Their mother and father were silent for a few moments. “Well then... let’s eat!” said their mother. They all sat around the table and started consuming their 5 course meal. The next day when Bob and Mystic went to school, Bob felt very nervous. “How am I going to explain to everyone that I am not a fairy!? They are going to make fun of me and call me a liar forever!!!!” cried Bob. As they walked through the door to the classroom they noticed that everybody was looking at the door and all of a sudden their jaws dropped. “You liar! You are NOT a fairy!!! AND YOU’RE PURPLE HAHA! Anyways fairies are weird!” yelled Brett. Bob sank down in his seat while everybody laughed at him. “Hey that was not nice! Also fairies are NOT weird! They are magical creatures that can fly and cast spells! Haven’t any of you wanted to be something else other than a llama?!?” yelled Mystic. The whole classroom got silent. Bob suddenly felt happier that Mystic stood up for him. “Well um.... I always wanted to be a... um..... a unicorn,” said Bob’s
classmate Maria. “I wanted to be a...... a computer,” whispered one of Brett’s friends. “I want to be a painter,” said their teacher Mrs. Mack. Suddenly they went around the room saying what they have always wanted to be. Then it was the last persons turn....Brett. “What do you want to be Brett?” asked Bob. “Well um...I want to be a um..... A HOT DOG!” the whole room went crazy and everybody was enjoying themselves. Mrs. Mack looked at the clock and said that it was time to go home. They all packed up and went home. “It turned out to be a very good day after all!” said Bob, happily. After that day on Bob never got bullied for wanting to be a fairy ever again. Bob learned that he was a llama living in Llama land going to Llamaentery and has llama friends. But Bob still likes fairies. Brett turned out to be a very nice and kind person and so were his friends. Everything was just perfect.
