od wants us to enter His Rest. The rest that God gives is a spiritual rest that affects the physical. It is not the will of God that any should toil and sweat as in a “Rat-Race” where a person devotes his entire life to non-stop labor to feed the family and supply his needs from the sweat of his brows. God wants us to trust in Him and enter into the rest He provides for all. Entering God’s Rest does not mean we do not do anything. It does not mean we are going to be lazy and we will just sit still. It means actively believing God and obeying His Word. This is quite different from the world’s view. But this is also the main reason why the world has failed to enter in. Only as a person realizes God’s provisions of everything in accordance to His will that he will be able to experience this. Rest is available for all who believe. Rest will enable you to do more things for God. It is rest from the world system and entering into the system of God. Rest is giving up the world’s way and giving in to God’s ways. Rest also has a depth to it. One door leads to another door of a deeper level.

are not to be moved by what we see, hear, feel, touch or smell. We are to be moved only by the Word of God. This keeps us stable and fixed.

Knowing you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, we can come boldly, not helplessly, not desperately, not shamefully, but boldly to the throne of grace. It is the seat of grace and of power to help in time of need. This is rest. When you come boldly, you finally find the rest you are searching for. Here in the throne of grace is where your total dependence on the Lord is manifested. It is not you but Christ in you that allowed you to enter. It is not your dependence on your strength but it is in your dependence on God’s. It is a full understanding that without God you cannot do anything. Enter his rest today and receive the full benefits of what Jesus has done for us on the cross.

The word is the key which opens the door of rest. It is also the constant companion one cannot be without because keeping the Word in our hearts keeps us from falling and from disobeying.

2. Hold fast to the Confession of Faith Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a great High Priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.” Knowing we have Jesus, let us not change our confession or profession of faith. It is what we should hold on to. Keeping the faith will enable us to enter that rest. We

“When you are in Faith you are Resting”

&

Ethel Jane R. Soriano

The Fireproof movie screening held last February 26, 2010 is another successful project of the Men and Women’s Net. Instead of the usual Couples’ Night, the movie was shown with an aim of reminding the people of the purpose and realities of marriage.

Hebrews 4:16 “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.”

GOD’S REST

Hebrews 4:11-12 “Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience. For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Chesapeake Youth Acquaintance Party

Kate Parulan and Dan Parulan

The Chesapeake Youth Acquaintance Party is the first FCI Youth outreach program for this year. It aims to win more souls specifically the young people for the kingdom of God. Forty-one youths from Chesapeake Village attended the party last Feb. 19, 2010. The event was filled with games, fun, dancing, singing and of course with God’s Word rendered by Sis. Jonna Reteo. There were also food, drinks and fruits as give-away to all. Thank you to those who supported this project, namely: • Pastor Mike and Pastora Me-Ann Bunye • Youth Leaders • Sis. Sally Barrameda • Bro. Boie and Sis. Maylene Panguito • Bro. Berny and Sis. Celia Arias • Bro. Tito, Sis. Omie and Patricia Suarez • Bro. Erwin and Sis. Tess Sevalla • Bro. Danny, Sis. Nanette and her F12 leaders • Faith Riders We won seven souls from this event, five of them are now actively attending our Sunday service. Some have joined the Dance Ministry and some are training on musical instruments under the Youth Band.

A total of 270 attended the event, 106 of which were newcomers. The movie’s theme of making a marriage work was the reference of Pastora Me-Ann Bunye’s short talk after the screening. She focused on God’s unconditional love and how important this is in our lives because we can’t give something we don’t have. The couples were also presented with a certificate to a marriage seminar held last March 6, 2010. The seminar was a follow-up to the movie screening and was attended by 47 members and visitors. Pastora Me-Ann taught the women about the role of the wife as the suitable helper of her husband, while Pastor Mike talked about the responsibilities of the husband as the head of the family. During a short break, the participants shared insights while enjoying coffee and some pastries. It was an enlightening experience to everyone, not just to married couples, but also to the singles. As a token of appreciation for the attendees, an audio collection of the Christian Family series was given to each family.

We are expecting more as we continue to win them by the grace of God. Congratulations! To God be the glory! www.faithcenterimus.org

FAITH NEWS

FAITH NEWS Word of Faith

The Word of Faith Convention held last February 20 at JFCF Las Piñas featured three women of God namely, Ptra. Me-Ann Bunye, Sister Rhema Joy Yu of Faith Center Las Piñas, and Ptra. Eden Joy Reteo Lyn Aguilucho of Faith Center Binakayan. The event was well attended by members of various JFCF branches and our Praise and Worship band together with Sis. Jonna Reteo rendered a special song number entitled “Will You Go?”. The speakers talked about the Grace message. Sis. Rhema elaborated on the love of God, the grace of God, faith and hope. By referring to Romans 5:1-2 she said, “We have to stand in the grace of God so we can walk by faith.” On the other hand, Ptra. Me-Ann’s topic was “Love Demonstrated by Grace”. She defined and differentiated the types of works and gave emphasis on good works as we are led by the Holy Spirit in willful obedience to God’s Word. One good work that she discussed was the Ministry of Reconciliation. She taught a few steps of do’s and don’ts in leading people to God through the love of Christ that compels us. Ptra. Lyn spoke about the abundance of God’s grace in Jesus Christ. She also mentioned the Heaven’s way of having is to believe and receive. In closing, she read Jude 1:24-25 which says that “God is able to keep us from falling and presents us blameless before His glorious presence with great joy. Thus, receiving the grace of God makes us confident of the coming of Jesus Christ.

Akustik Ah!

Ellaine Jonna Reteo

A successful special youth service was held last February 20 entitled Akustik Ah! headed by the youth band and hosted by Simon Pardo and Sabrina Ramirez. Various songs were rendered by the band to introduce the different faces of love and its outcomes. However at the latter part of the program, new set of songs introduced God’s love and its importance in our life. The various performances showed that God’s love never fails and never changes. It’s the only love that we can trust with everything that we have.

It was attended by almost 60 new attendees from different groups like Don Stevens School, Cheasapeake Village and other invited guests. Everyone enjoyed the great music. They met new friends as they shared God’s love with one another.

When you enter Rest by believing and acting on the Word, the waiting is over, the hoping is past, faith and action takes over and grace is found.

Praise God for another successful Word of Faith event!

Faith Connected, Faith Updated!

Maria Carina Madlangbayan

Last February 7, we started updating our members’ profile by taking photos of all the members. The photo shoot was supervised by Sis. Sally Barrameda with Seed Bunye as photographer. Picture calendars of Pastor Mike and family were also given to members as a token of appreciation. This membership update just proved how we value every member, new and old, and shows the importance of connecting with others. As we continue to connect and update the FCI members, we are stepping up in our faith as we establish each other and build new bond. Thank you all for your love and support for the ministry of Jesus.

GREAT JOB SINGLES! Congratulations on your first activity for this year 2010. Facing the Giants is really a must see movie for everyone. An inspiration for husband and wife waiting patiently for the gift of a child, a reminder to a team leader, a small group or a business group that each team member is important. This movie is a wonderful tool for faith building that can make a major impact in one’s life. That by trusting and believing that God is the greater One, nothing is impossible! Personal Testimony

Soul winning is for every believer.

Ellaine Jonna Reteo

I praise and thank God for the opportunity that was given me to lead a cell meeting in Regal Homes Alapan hosted by Ramil Astillero and Lawrence Loria. It’s being attended by our youths. It started last February 6 and we meet every other Saturday. Before it started, I was hesitant to take the responsibility because of my schedule and other activities, but I took heed of God’s command and I’m so thankful that I did. I asked for His vision for the youth to fire-up my heart and keep my feet right on the track and He simply said, “This will be their training ground and they too will go out and share the Word.” That was enough for me to obey for I know He is faithful.

Our physical appearance is most of the time an age indicator. It is being manifested on our eyes, hair, skin as well as our built and mobility that’s why it’s important to take good care of it. To have a well maintained and healthy body, we have to consider some factors to guide us. There are external factors like: • engaging in a compatible physical fitness program • application of skin and personal care enhancement products as advised by the doctor • regular consultation with the dentist • hair trimming • dressing up with comfortable but suitable clothes All these practices are good but we also have to consider the second factor, the internal.

And this is an effective model that we can follow to win a purpose.” others. See them with the eyes of God. What are they going through? What do they need? Ask yourself what you can Here are three easy steps to do it: do to help.

Be VISIBLE

There’s no greater act that builds friendship than the act Jesus came to this world for the lost. And by doing that He of love. made Himself visible.

Be CONNECTED

Wonderful stories and praise reports are being shared by the youth in our meetings like personal encounters with God that bring them into a deeper knowledge of God and His works; victories over challenges, may it be personal or from outside circumstances that helps them learn and mature more; blessings and provisions especially for their studies and also for a garage renovation; renewed mind and a chance to finish high school; protection; open doors for ministry (e.g. youth band and multimedia); meeting new friends and growing up with Godly friends.

New Body…New You

them and to teach them. In any relationship, giving time is a fundamental rule. So after you’ve made new friends, you have to be available for them.

Since the inside operations of our body manifest on the outside appearance, we must test and monitor how our internal system works. Some areas that we can check through laboratory tests and doctor consultation are the condition of our organs, tissues and the level of built-in enzymes and antioxidants. So there, you have a better body. However, the most important factor is the spiritual which is a personal responsibility. We are preciously created by God. The human body is perfectly made. It can replenish and repair itself. We know that ultimately, healing comes from God, but He has given us wisdom to care for our bodies so that we can be in the best possible state to receive His healing. On a daily basis, present your body as a living sacrifice to the Lord and spend time renewing your mind in His Word. Then, eat fewer calories, get more exercise and know that when these add up, the result is: a New Body, a NEW YOU!

We can’t win souls by being alone or always being with fellow believers. We can’t form new friendships if we’ll not mingle with other people. Being visible means positioning ourselves in places or circumstances where we can meet others and others can approach us. This will start your soul winning process. Expanding your network can begin with making new friends or connecting with old ones. You may try joining some interest groups like a fitness class, cooking club or a sports team. These are avenues to expose one’s self opening doors for people interaction. Did you know that Jesus walked around more than 3,000 miles during his 3-year ministry? Why did He have to travel frequently? I think one of the many reasons was for Him to reach as many people as possible. Jesus walked on earth before men so that His light can be seen.

Winning souls involves time. Oftentimes, it doesn’t happen overnight. We’ve got to consistently sow seeds of love, invest ourselves and wait expectantly that people will eventually cross the line of faith. And this is where connectedness comes in. It will sustain the friendship that you have formed with others. Being connected means being attached. For example, we find common grounds which we can enjoy with our friends like recreational and relaxation activities. This doesn’t only keep the camaraderie but also cultivates it. Another way is maintaining meaningful communication with each other. Through this we can sow seeds of the Word of God while fashioning a style that is not too scriptural. There are a lot more means to be connected but the key point here is to attract, preserve and enhance our friendships until such time that our friends personally decide to follow Christ.

By making ourselves visible, we are increasing opportunities This is the role we have to play as salt of the earth. We of meeting new people, of letting our light shine towards are salt so that we can bring taste to people’s flavorless existence. That through us they can have a taste of what it’s others who might have been staying too long in the dark. like to be in Christ. And then they can taste the difference. Someone needs the light that you have. Let your light show. Soul winning should be a culture for us. Soul winning should Be visible. be our lifestyle. Soul winning should be the essence of our Christianity. Be AVAILABLE Have you tried calling a phone number which is always Again, be visible being the light of this world. Be available through acts of love and service. Be connected functioning busy? Let me guess – you just stopped calling it. as salt of the earth. Jesus had the greatest task any man could ever have but He was never busy for people. In fact, they are His priority. He Do this with the leading of the Holy Spirit and I guarantee always made Himself available to be with them, to care for you that soul winning is that simple. www.faithcenterimus.org

Just Playing When I'm with the building blocks, please don't say I'm "just playing." For you see, I'm learning as I play; about balance & shape, I may be an architect someday. When you see me up to my elbows in paint; or standing at an easel; or molding or shaping clay, please don't let me hear you say "She is just playing". For you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm expressing myself and being creative. I maybe am artist or an inventor someday. When you see me cooking or tasting foods, please don't think that because I enjoy it, it is "just play." I'm learning to follow directions and see differences. I may be a cook someday. When I'm getting all dressed up, setting the table or caring for the babies, don't get the idea I'm "just playing." For you see, I'm learning as I play. I maybe a father or a mother someday. When you see me engrossed in a puzzle or some "playing" at my school, Please don't feel the time is wasted in "play". For you see I'm learning as I play. I'm learning to solve problems and concentrate. I may be in business someday. When you see me sitting in a chair "reading" to an imaginary audience, please don't laugh and think I'm "just playing." For you see, I'm learning as I play. I maybe a teacher someday. When you see me learning to skip and hop, run and move my body, please don't say I'm "just playing". For you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm learning as my body works. I may be a doctor, nurse or an athlete someday. When you ask me what I've done at school today, and I say "I just played." Please don't misunderstand me. For you see, I'm learning as I play. I'm learning to enjoy and be successful in my work. I'm preparing for tomorrow. Today I'm a child and my work is play.

Four Words That Work

by Kenneth Copeland Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. Mark 11:24 Believing. That’s the key to everything in the kingdom of God. It’s the way we tap into the very power of Almighty God. Most of us know that. But do we know how to put it into action? Actually it’s so simple, it’s startling. It’s as simple as saying, I believe I receive. Something happens in your spirit when you say those words. I don’t understand how, but it does. I don’t understand how my digestive system knows what to do when I swallow something, but it does. All I have to do is take a bite of food and it goes to work. I don’t have to make it happen. I don’t have to feel it happen. It just happens. That s the way the body is made.

Learn and Live Maribel R. Vicedo

Learn to live for a giving For if you do You will lack nothing And will have everything Learn to live for a sowing For by doing You will receive something More than you can imagine Learn to live by sharing For it will help you Bless others as God blessed you And show the love that is in you Learn to live by doing For only through your action God can manifest His Word And bless you forevermore

In much the same way, when you feed on God’s precious promises and swallow them into your spirit by saying, I believe I receive, faith is released. You don’t have to make it happen. You don’t have to feel it happen. It just happens. The reborn spirit is made that way. When you constantly say with your mouth, I believe I receive my healing or I believe I receive my financial needs met, and then quote the scriptures that back those things, faith is released to bring power to bear on those needs. As Dr. Kenneth Hagin says, you need to keep the switch of faith turned on. And Gloria and I have discovered that speaking out that phrase, I believe I receive, is one way to do it. We say it when we pray. We say it when we praise God. We say it when we read the Word. We especially say it in the face of darkness when it looks like we’re not receiving. When everything looks the worst, we say it the loudest. I believe I receive! www.faithcenterimus.org

A man cries out:: “Oh! I’m so tired of everything! Running, laboring and crying! My hands and feet are burning! The whole thing leads to nothing!” “All I do is for my own future! But it always ends up to torture! Why is it I can’t find pleasure? Even a box of so much treasure?” “Things often come into my mind! I just can’t help but to be a blind! I’ve caught myself like a little child! Sitting alone and no one could find!” Jesus speaks unto him: “My child, do not burden yourself Come unto me, I’ll give you rest My arms forever wide and open You’re always welcome to go in.” “Do not make your own way Listen my son in words I say, Walk with me in sand and bay I’ll hold you tight, you just stay” “Look at the flying birds above Are they fretting for foods they have? Are they afraid in things to arrive?
