200 children 20 servicable years 1 community Upon conducting a needs analysis of the compound we found, through the OIC of HFC Ms. Nieve Gentelizo, that there was a serious need for a dental chair for their dental procedures. Currently, their dentist would be doing procedures like tooth extraction and cleaning on floor mattresses or sofas. This way of doing the procedures is very uncomfortable for the kids as well as their dentist.
December 11, 2021 - In collaboration with the Rotary Club of Pasay and JCI Alabang, we have donated one Dental Chair complete with dental tools to the Haven for Children compound in Muntinlupa City. Haven for Children is a DSWD compound for children in Need of Special Protection (CNSP) with experiences of physical, psychological, or sexual abuse, neglect, cruelty, emotional maltreatment, substance abuse, and in conflict with the law revealed their pervasive feelings which characterize the children’s inner world. There can be anywhere to 60 to 200 children in Haven depending on the season.

We have sourced a used dental chair through the network of our CP Jay Hilario III, who is a dentist by profession. The dental chair is German-made and still in perfect working condition. The estimated cost of the chair is around PHP 400,000. To date, the chair has already been used to treat the children with a range of various treatments such as: Cleaning, tooth extractions, and basic checkups. According to their resident dentist, they are already scheduling cavity filling for those children who need it. We plan to conduct dental missions in Haven to make our All Smiles in Haven program sustainable for many years to come.#

A Christmas Donation Program to Poultry Wakas and SOS Village, Muntinlupa
December 21, 2021 - Our club in partnership with JCI Alabang and RC Parañaque Metro and Ayala Malls, made the Christmas season merry for 40 families in the Poultry Wakas community in Sucat, Parañaque City. The families were brought together with the special efforts of the community leaders of Poultry Wakas. This project was made possible through the Munting Kasiyhan Ngayong Pasko program where people donated 500 pesos to fund a goodie back for one family. The bag was comprised of foods that would make a Christmas Eve meal such as canned meats, spaghetti, and coffee. Over 100 bags were bought and they were sent to our beneficiaries at SOS Children’s Village and the Poultry Wakas Community. The families were very grateful making their Christmas extra special this year.#

A Livelihood Program for the Haven for Women
February 21, 2022 - The Rotary Club of Parañaque Midtown and JCI Alabang supports the empowerment and skills development of the girls and women in Haven for Women in Muntinlupa City. The Haven for Women is a DSWD compound for abused girls and women. This establishment is used for the rehabilitation and education of those that are sent here. Currently, there are 40 women housed in the compound with the aid of 10 social workers. In partnership with Alabang Town Center and DSWD, our clubs brought in key instructors to teach the girls basic skills. Our program, “Haven Knows”, aims to teach the girls of Haven for women how to make rosaries and cook potato chips. One skill for spiritual improvement and the other for physical nourishment. The surplus rosaries and chips they will make will go to our booth in Alabang Town Center where they will be sold to mall-goers. The proceeds of this will go towards more skills development training and/or improvements to the facilities of Haven for Women.#

Midtowners in Action LCP Rj Paguyo Turnovers Plastic Bottles to Ayuda sa Basura BSA
March 25, 2022 - There is so much non-biodegradable plastic waste in our landfills it is causing a problem to our environment. That is why one of the advocacies of RC Paranaque Midtown this year is environmentalism through recycling. We collect plastic bottles in our local communities and send them out to our partner recycling facilities. We also collaborate with other communities so that we can advance the impact of our efforts and spread awareness for our advocacy. In the month of March, our club partnered with Barangay San Antonio in Pasig City headed by Kap. Raymond Lising. Their barangay has set up a collection and recycling drive in their community. To support their program our club helped in their collection by sending out some of our collected plastics from our community. Let us support each other in saving our planet. Recycle your plastic waste today! Contact us if you have any plastics for recycling.#

Promoting Active Healthy Aging thru GreyMatters February 26, 2022 - In partnership with JCI Alabang, we have invited as a speaker for the month an athlete and health enthusiast, the father of Philippine triathlon, Mr. Frank Lacson. Just as the old saying goes, health is wealth. Keeping ourselves fit and healthy is an important part of living a long and fruitful life. Eating the right food and exercising regularly are some of the things we can do to build a healthy lifestyle. These are the things that our speaker promoted during his talk with our club. He discussed the importance of having a wellbalanced diet for health and athletic performance. Being an athlete, he needed the energy and nourishment to complete his marathons and recover from the fatigue afterward. In order to be in top shape, he would exercise every day to improve the flexibility and durability of his muscles and bones to run for kilometers. All these cannot be done overnight. He said we should start with simple things and build a habit of healthy activities. As the habit grows it becomes and lifestyle and that is what will keep us healthy for many years to come.#
Mem Kyra Ceralvo heads AntiRabies Program in Alabang March 19, 2022 - Responsible furparenting includes making sure your pets are fully vaccinated! That is why RC Paranaque Midtown joined JCI Alabang in hosting a vaccination and microchipping program for pet owners in Alabang Town Center. Pet vaccinations are not only for the safety of pets but for owners and their families as well. Rabies is a deadly disease if contracted from rabid pets. So in order to spread awareness, we launched a free vaccination campaign at the mall for maximum visibility. Pet microchipping was also offered at the low price of 250 pesos. This offers a permanent ID tag for pets. We also pushed for the adoption of pets wherein 12 pets were put up for adoption. This was in partnership with the Muntinlupa City Animal Pound and the Muntinlupa City Veterinary.#
