Next meeting 9th July 2013 Special guest speaker Dr. Peter Harris

"Leading the Way on Sustainability. Sustainability has been one of the corporate buzz words of recent times, but a generation of leaders is transforming sustainability from feel good propaganda into hard figures for stronger, more successful organization.

Phuket over the last few years is piloting that change within this region Education has a key role and our sustainable future will be shaped by the independent thinking of the young."

Positions Vacant - Photographer A vacancy for a photographer is available to capture the activities of RCoPB at meetings and events. This position is due to the “elevation” (lol) to President of the prior photographer It is essential, for the History of the Club, to have a photographic record for each year. One does not need a DSLR – lenses – flash – filters – etc etc etc Many of you have a point & shoot camera –or in your phone – be it iphone – ipad – android device what- ever etc etc So contact me PLEASE – with an offer to assist – you are most welcome. Just submit photos as large as possible file size. I await an avalanche of photos – don’t hold back – GIVE IT YOUR BEST SHOT ! It would be nice to be included in some photos of RCoPB P Denis th

Jim Domville’s 80th – 28th June Montreal My apology for not including this in last week’s Bulletin – however things have been a bit hectic and haphazard during this time - Ed Belated greetings Jim – no doubt the birthday continued for a few days Pat’s comments - The 80th was held at Jims ex wife’s country house, an hour and a half north of Montreal, wonderful location except for the black flies and the mosquitoes (editor note – maybe ex-wives do come in handy – in limited situations – lol)

Mind you, it was the last weekend for the black flies. They die.

Looking good Jim t

Last Meeting Night Report – 2nd July Another fabulous Dinner Out @ Friendship beach – organized by Rtn Stewart Petersen with thirty Rotarians and guests. The night was dark and stormy (OK same same but different) unfortunately the rain was with us during the night, but that did not dampen the spirits of those attending. A nice long table enabled all to sit together, with plenty of chatter and an enjoyable time for all Stewart did a great job, and the menu choices were excellent, and I am sure Dr. Johan also enjoyed the alternative to fish. I even noticed several desserts were left with some on the plate just too much. This being the first meeting of the new Rotary Year I am pleased there was a good number attending. P. Denis called for introductions of the guests and there was one visiting Rotarian Graeme Allan from the Gold Coast in Queensland Australia. RC of Ashmore – Gold Coast

Graeme did advise his hotel as being Novotel – not sure which one but after a couple of calls tracked him down and left him a banner from RCoPB Stewart’s friends introduced themselves, John & Coleen,

Humour - or maybe not ? Two women were sitting next to each other in a bar. After a while, one looks at the other and says, 'I can't help but think, from listening to you, that you're from Ireland .....' The other woman responds proudly, 'I surely am.' The first one says, 'So am I. And whereabouts in Ireland are ya from?' The other woman answers, 'I'm from Dublin , so I am.' The first one responds, 'Me too. And what street did you live on in Dublin ?' The other woman says, 'A lovely little area. It was in the west end. I lived on Warbury Street in the old central part of town.' The first one says, 'Praise be tae Jesus it's a small world. So did I. So did I. And what school did ya go to?' The other woman answers, 'Well now, I went to Holy Heart of Mary.' The first one gets really excited and says, 'And so did I. Tell me, what year did you graduate?' The other woman answers, 'Well, now, let's see, it was 1964.' The first woman exclaims, 'Saints preserve us, I can hardly believe our good luck at winding up in the same pub tonight. I graduated from Holy Heart of Mary in 1964 meself.' About this time, Michael walks into the bar, sits down, and orders a beer. Brian, the bartender, walks over to Michael shaking his head and mutters, 'It's going to be a long night tonight.' Michael asks, 'Why do you say that, Brian?' Brian answers, 'The Murphy twins are drunk again'. Thanks PP David Arell Three sisters ages 92, 94 and 96 live in a house together. One night the 96 year old draws a bath. She puts her foot in and pauses... She yells to the other sisters, "Was I getting in or out of the bath?" The 94 year old yells back, "I don't know. I'll come up and see." She starts up the stairs and pauses "Was I going up the stairs or down?" The 92 year old is sitting at the kitchen table having tea listening to her sisters.. She shakes her head and says, "I sure hope I never get that forgetful, knock on wood." She then yells, "I'll come up and help both of you as soon as I see who's at the door." Please !!!! TELL ME THIS WON'T HAPPEN TO US!!!! th
