Waiting For God - By Brother Ukeme Okon NE thing that we do or don’t like doing very often is waiting. We wait for everything and it requires so much patience. Sometimes with grumpy faces and sometimes by taking a deep breath because we do not have any choice but to WAIT. The society we live in teaches us to wait compulsorily; we sometimes cannot hasten the pace at which things are done. That is dealing with the earthly things that matters to us. Applying that to dealing with God, I discover that we run out of patience easily. We set deadlines for God, give Him a time frame and many of us have missed our blessings because we choose to help ourselves and refuse to wait for God to come for us. The danger is that at the end of the day, we would have wasted so much energy, suffer huge loss, for the wise one, they return to God and for the others, the die in silence. For all of God’s promises, it will surely come to pass because He promised, “my word will not go without fulfilling its purpose”. All he expects us to do is wait for Him. When Jesus departed from the disciples in Acts 1: 4-8, He commanded them to wait for His power to come upon them, He did not specify the days to wait, all he expected was absolute Obedience. Micah 5:5 understood the meaning of waiting for God when he said, “Therefore I will look to Jehovah; I will wait for the God of my salvation. My God will hear me!” Beloved, God will always come through for us, He works with His time and not ours. My sincere prayer is that we will not miss God when he decides to come. He has promised, that He will never leave us nor forsake us, He has promise, He will keep us with His right hand of righteousness, all he wants is believe on His word and wait patiently for Him. The battle will be fierce, the storms will rage, there will be pain, there will be weeping, the night time will be very long but I have come to tell someone, that JOY COMES IN THE MORNING. Brethren, one of the greatest pains we bear in life is waiting, waiting for answers, waiting for manifestation, waiting just to see a cloud, the size of a man’s hand. It takes patience but there is a word for someone this morning, it will not tarry, it will come. He will come for you. Beloved, waiting can be very painful, it can be very long, it can even be hopeless. In the story of Lazarus, Mary and Martha sent for Jesus and waited for Him to come when
SEPTEMBER 2013 THEME:
Season of Renewal
Excerpts of a sermon delivered by Brother Ukeme Okon on September 22nd, 2013 at the Youth Take Over programme.
THE RCCG (EVERLASTING FATHER’S ASSEMBLY) 2013 PROPHECY. THEME: OUR YEAR OF GOD’S REST Isaiah 65: 21-24, Isaiah 14:1-4
EASON can be defined as a suitable, natural or convenient time for something to happen. While renewal can be defined as the action of extending the period of validity of a license, subscription, or contract. It could also be to make like new; restore to freshness; vigour or perfection; or to begin again. The bible tells us that God will renew this world. That the world will be wiped off by God with fervent heat and a new Earth and a new Heaven will be made by God to replace the old one (Rev. 2:1-5). God enacted a covenant of blessing and fruitfulness with Abraham which was sealed by circumcision in Gen. 17:1-14. There was however a period of intermission when the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt and when they journeyed in the wilderness. God had to renew that covenant with them when they entered into the Promised Land, so that the blessings can continue (Joshua 5:2-8). God said in Isaiah 40:31 that, “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they will mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”. I heard God say that as we continue to wait on Him, He will renew our ‘strength’. That strength would be in areas of spiritual, financial, numerical, material, synergy, etc. Therefore, in this month of September and beyond, God will take us through a season of renewal: He will reconfigure us anew and restore freshness and vigour into us the more in Jesus name. Pastor Samuel Obafaiye
Lazarus their brother was ill, Jesus did not turn up until Lazarus was dead, Martha and Mary seeing Jesus said, Master, if you had come earlier, our brother would not have died. Jesus being the giver and taker of life proved to them that God works with His own timing and not man’s timing. I pray for someone, that GOD will open your eyes of understanding; it is in that we know how to trust in Him more. For whatever you are going through, is it something that brings so much tears to your eyes, it is something that you constantly hold God and declare, I will not let you go, God is telling you today, Not in many days, I WILL COME. When you are at the brink of giving up, hold the fort a little longer, THE MASTER WILL COME. Job 14: 14. There is a white flag waiving long miles away, it is closer than you think or can imagine. Hab 2: 3 For the vision is still for an appointed time, but it speaks to the end, and it does not lie. Though it lingers, wait for it; because it will surely come. It will not tarry. In conclusion, Luke 12:22-40. The bible says we do not know the hour nor the season when the Son of Man will come for His chosen, He will come for a church that is blameless, He will come for a people that keep watch. Will He find you waiting, watching? Vs 37. Blessed are those servants whom the lord will find watching when he comes. Truly I say to you that he shall gird himself and make them recline; and coming up he will serve them. May God find us waiting when He comes in Jesus name. In the silence of your heart, I want you to declare, WITH THIS ONE LIFE, I WILL WAIT UNTIL MY CHANGE COMES. Remain in God’s arms.
WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”.
RCCG 20132013 PROPHECY THEWORLDWIDE RCCG (WORLDWIDE) PROPHECY
Year of Signs & Wonders FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)
For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

May God be your Sun and Shield
By Dr. Abayomi SANUSI
OR the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.-Psalm 84.11 Background As winter again slowly approaches, and the heat of the sun feels scarcely adequate to keep us warm let us be reminded of some enduring and heart warming facts regarding our christian faith. The sun is a powerful symbol and effective sustainer of life. It is a source of energy and warmth, providing nourishment, light and affecting every aspect of our being. [In testament to the influential nature of the sun; spare a thought in remembrance of the first appearance of spring, the cheer and various celebrations that unfailingly erupt. Spring itself is akin to movement, vitality, development and life] Let’s hypothetically imagine what the earth would be in 2014 without the sun: a dark, cold place that would gradually run out of drinkable water, edible food, plant, laughter, and recreation. It would slowly turn into a place of misery, hardship, fear and darkness. A place devoid of life as God intended it. The Lord God is a metaphorical sun? The sun represents warmth, provision, care, love, continuity, the goodness of God upon His creatures. No wonder the earth was shapeless, empty and dark until God lovingly created light, and reassured that it was good! (Genesis 1.1-4) To the Christian today the symbol of the sun should remind us of at least four essential aspect of life in the modern world today, that people knowingly or unknowingly have to contend with. These are Physical Comfort, Financial Security, Emotional Reassurance, and Spiritual Settlement What the scriptures specifically say… As children of God we have an ‘unfair’ advantage with regard to enjoying the full benefit of God’s work; deriving the full extent of His grace, glory, provision and companionship. Psalm 84.11. Like King David we can have full confidence in God’s promises and physical abilities. We can declare like him in Psalm 27.1: The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD [is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? The benefit of being in His presence, of answers to our prayers and of following His lead physically protects us from sundry danger, suffering and peril. Our physical safety shall manifest spiritually, and the collective and individual promises in our lives shall be fulfilled.[Contemplate on Isaiah 60.1-2] Isaiah 60.19: The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory. We will prosper spiritually and this will manifest in the physical, although like the world never fully understood Jesus they may not completely grasp the reason, logic or understanding of our triumphs. John 1.4-5 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. As we love Him with our entire hearts, minds, soul and worship him in reverence we become emotionally attached to God. As a bride or wife’s affection is perpetually to her husband our love and reverence for Him will grow. We will benefit from reverencing His holy name. Malachi 4.2: But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall. He will be our strength, shield and fortress: Psalm 3.3- But thou, O LORD, [art] a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head Psalm 119.114- Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word. Finally when we make it to the new Jerusalem, Jesus himself physically symbolising the sacrifice he aid will be our light and brightness. Let God be your sun and shield. For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.-Psalm 84.11 Excerpts of a sermon delivered by Dr Abayomi SANUSI on September 22nd 2013 at RCCG Everlasting Father’s Arena, York TO READ THE FULL VERSION, PLEASE VISIT http://rccgefayork.org.uk/maygod-be-your-sun-and-shield/
