When People Almost Missed God - By Pastor Samuel OBAFAIYE

T was said of a man in the queue wanting to buy sandwich in a Subway shop. The person in front of him asked for how much a footlong is, after been told, he found out that he didn't have enough to buy one, so he settled for a 6" size. At his own turn, this man ordered a footlong with special fillings. As he sat down in his car holding his sandwich with his two hands to have a bite, his eyes met with the other guy. Straightaway, his mouth became bitter. He had just missed God. He knew he could have added money to the other man's sandwich. May you not miss God in Jesus name. God is a Spirit, even though He is everywhere, it is very easy to miss Him. Isaiah 55:6: “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; In Gen. 28:10-22, Jacob subtly ran away from his brother because he got to know that Esau had planned to kill him as soon as their father dies. On his way to Haran, he slept at the outskirts of the City called Luz. It was on sand with a stone for pillow. He was surprised that God could show up at such an unpleasant place. Are you going through an unpleasant situation and you are thinking where is God in this? May God show up for you. May God turn the situation into a blessing for you. The hostile land became his home later. You are here and you are running away from your inheritance. May God grant you the courage and power to obtain it back. Many at times, people look for God solely in places. Even though, God puts His glory in designated places, it's rather better to have the surety that God is with us. Jacob said, "God was in this place...". Unknown to him, he brought God into that place. God did not tell him that, "I am the God of Beersheba and Luz", but of Abraham and Isaac. He did not know that he was to be the next noun for God (God of Jacob). He thought that place was awesome and that the gate of heaven was there. The truth is

Season of Renewal

EASON can be defined as a suitable, natural or convenient time for something to happen. While renewal can be defined as the action of extending the period of validity of a license, subscription, or contract. It could also be to make like new; restore to freshness; vigour or perfection; or to begin again. The bible tells us that God will renew this world. That the world will be wiped off by God with fervent heat and a new Earth and a new Heaven will be made by God to replace the old one (Rev. 2:1-5). God enacted a covenant of blessing and fruitfulness with Abraham which was sealed by circumcision in Gen. 17:1-14. There was however a period of intermission when the Israelites were in bondage in Egypt and when they journeyed in the wilderness. God had to renew that covenant with them when they entered into the Promised Land, so that the blessings can continue (Joshua 5:2-8). God said in Isaiah 40:31 that, “They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they will mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint”. I heard God say that as we continue to wait on Him, He will renew our ‘strength’. That strength would be in areas of spiritual, financial, numerical, material, synergy, etc. Therefore, in this month of September and beyond, God will take us through a season of renewal: He will reconfigure us anew and restore freshness and vigour into us the more in Jesus name. Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

he was carrying Jehovah's presence everywhere he went. The place only became special because he erected an altar unto God afterward and called it Bethel - House of God. Two things are happening here in the Land of mercy this morning. We brought God here. God was equally here, as this altar is erected and dedicated to the Living God. Here is Bethel. Anyone in doubt that they brought God in here and that God was here, has already missed God. Two years ago, God spoke to me and said, "Son, I am about to use your life to write the III Book of Samuel in the hearts of men". It was a shocking statement to me. Did I know what that meant? Not much. Did I believe it will happen? Certainly yes. Jacob thought he had become a failure. The problem with him however is that he had forgotten the prophetic blessing from his patriarch father: Genesis 27:27-29 So he came near and kissed him. And Isaac smelled the smell of his garments and blessed him and said, “See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field that the Lord has blessed! May God give you of the dew of heaven and of the fatness of the earth and plenty of grain and wine. Let peoples serve you, and nations bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may your mother's sons bow down to you. Cursed be everyone who curses you, and blessed be everyone who blesses you!” Have you forgotten any of God's prophecies regarding you? You need to remember them before you miss them. Jacob almost missed God. He felt he was all alone, but God was with him. In Ex. 3:1-6, Moses had a similar encounter. He almost missed God. After he hurriedly tried to help God, he became a fugitive for 40 years while serving his father in law. One day, while tending the flock, he led them by Horeb - the mount of God. It was then that he saw a bush burning and yet not consumed.

WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”.

Year of Signs & Wonders FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)

For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

Obedience Guarantees Jehovah’s Manifest Presence By Pastor (Mrs) Anthonia OBAFAIYE

HE Theme of the month of August is Jehovah's manifest presence as spoken by God through His prophet. The Bible says in the book of Pro. 16:7 (That when the ways of a man pleases God, He makes his enemies to be at peace with him). King David even put it in a better way in Psa. 41:11 (By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me. Brethren there is something about the presence of God in a man's life, Psa. 16:11 ( You make known to me the path of life, in your presence there is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.) The presence of God brings Joy, peace, love, unity, wisdom, guidance, protection, victory, prosperity, fruitfulness, cleansing, the list Brethren is endless. But the presence of God comes with a condition to be fulfilled by His children (Deut. 28:1-14), the Bible says 'The steps of a good man is ordered by the Lord'. The man in this context is good not because God is ordering his steps but because he allowed God to order his step, The Lord is my Shepard, I shall not want, The Lord is only Shepard's to sheep not goats. He says in His word that He is The Good Shepard, He knows His sheep by name and his sheep knows Him, he says when he calls they hear Him and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. The Lord will help us in Jesus name. Brethren the condition to be fulfilled is obedience, as long as we obey His voice, His command, His word, His will, everything will work out all together for good for us. Total obedience to God in everything guarantee's His Manifest presence in our lives. Our main text will be taken from the Books of Jonah Chapter 1, 2, & 3 we will just be reading a few verses from each Chapter. A very interesting Prophet of God I must say, The Bible says in the Book of Rom. 10:15 'And how shall they preach except they be sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace and bring glad tidings of good things' Verse17 says 'So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God' I want to believe that God created and brought Prophet Jonah to the earth for the city of Nineveh, that was his Divine purpose on earth, to preach the gospel to the people of Nineveh and to win them over to the kingdom of God, through repentance, because after that episode with the city of Nineveh we did not hear about him anymore. May you and I fulfil our Divine purpose and destiny in Jesus name. Prophet Jonah almost lost it because of disobedience. The Bible says God commanded him to go to that great city and cry against it for their wickedness is come up before him. Ezekiel 3:18 -19 The Bible says that it is not the desire of God that any man should perish, but that he repent and turn away from his evil ways. 'When I say unto the wicked that thou shalt surely die, and thou givest him not warning nor speaketh to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life, the same man shall die in his iniquities but his blood will I require at thine hand. But if you warn him, his blood will be on his own head, if he does not repent and turn away from his evil ways. So it was a direct command from God but just like so many of us will do Jonah had condemned the city of Nineveh in his heart without giving them a chance to repent. He did not want to show mercy as he had received mercy from God, the Bible says in James 2:3 'Mercy rejoiceth over judgement' The Bible says he went down to Joppa and he found a ship going to Tarshish and he paid the fare and went down to it from the presence of God. The Bible says in the Bk of Pro. 14:12 'There is a way which seemeth right unto a man but the end there of are ways of death' Brethren that was a very dangerous thing Jonah did, to flee from the presence of God, to disobey his command. Jonah from then was like an accident waiting to happen and because of his disobedience a lot of people almost lost their lives, innocent ones that had no idea what Jonah had done.
