What Will You Have Me Do?

While Jesus was seeking those that will work for and with Him, people on the other hand follow Jesus for different reasons. Some followed Him to be delivered from sin; Some to gain understanding of eternity; Some to gain material possession and Some to even steal from Him. In Luke 7:36-50, the bible says that while Jesus was seating at a meal at Simon house, a sinful woman knew about His visit and came to seek Jesus attention. She finally got what she wanted as Jesus forgave her sins and delivered her from demonic oppression. In John 6:5-13, the bible says that Jesus Christ was teaching in the wilderness from morning until evening, by evening the people were very hungry. Jesus asked the disciple to feed them, but there was nothing to feed such a number of people. There was a little boy that came to hear Jesus speak that had a lunch pack, he was the one that surrendered his meal that Jesus used to feed possibly over 20,000 people. It could be that someone else had more refreshment on them than the boy. It was the lad that surrendered his own. He later got 12 basket full of bread and fish in return. In another development, in John 6:25-27, after the miracle of the feeding of the 5,000 men, Jesus went to Capernaum. Not long after the multitude located him, they were telling Him how they had missed Him. He however told them that they were not seeking Him to hear His word, but because of the bread and fish they ate the day before. Jesus had 12 apostles that stayed with Him. He chose them by Himself, but one became a son of devil. He actually was following Jesus because he knew he could steal from whatever people gave them. In John 12:1-6, we hear that he had been stealing from Jesus. Four different scenarios and four type of followership. We are here in church today as followers of Christ. What will distinguish us is why have we come? Most of the time, we always look for what people can do for us, and what God can do for us. However, the message of God to us this first Sunday of the year is what can we do for Him in 2014? In Acts 9: 1-6, as Jesus met Saul of Tarsus on the way to Damascus. After acknowledging the Lordship of Jesus, the first question he asked Jesus is 'What will you have me to do?' Acts 9:1-6 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus:and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest:it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. What will you do for God this year? What will you do to support His work on earth. What will you do to be a blessing to God's kingdom in 2014? God is seeking labourers to use their time, skill and other resources to work for Him. What will you do? Where will you come in? Many of us do write down what we want God to do for us within a giving time. He has asked us this morning to write down what we want to do for Him this year. May God help us to do a His will in Jesus name. E.xcerpts of a sermon delivered by Pastor Samuel OBAFAIYE on January 5, 2014 Special Thanksgiving Service. To read/download please visit

I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice, And it told Thy love to me; But I long to rise in the arms of faith And be closer drawn to Thee. Draw me nearer, nearer blessèd Lord, To the cross where Thou hast died. Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessèd Lord, To Thy precious, bleeding side. Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord, By the power of grace divine; Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope, And my will be lost in Thine. Refrain O the pure delight of a single hour That before Thy throne I spend, When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God I commune as friend with friend! Refrain There are depths of love that I cannot know Till I cross the narrow sea; There are heights of joy that I may not reach Till I rest in peace with Thee. Refrain

LORIOUS can be defined as something that has or is worthy of bringing fame or admiration; or something that has a striking beauty or splendour. While reform is to make changes in something (especially an institution or practise) in order to improve it. Whenever an improvement leads to fame and admiration; beauty or splendour, it could be said to be a glorious reform. King Asa is one of the kings in Judah that God used to bring glorious reforms to the land. In his time, he took away altars of strange gods, removed their high places, cut down their grooves and destroy their images. He also commanded the people to seek God and obeyed His laws. During his time the land of Judah was quiet, he built fenced cities and prospered. He was also able to raise about 500,000 well equipped Army. The Lord gave him rest for the reformations to take place (2 Chro. 14:1-8). Whatever our God does is glorious (I Tim. 4:4). However God can choose to refine His work whenever He wants (Isaiah 65:17). In this month of January and beyond, God wants us to embark on what will be glorious reforms and He will effect His own. He wants us to do away with anything that is competing with His worship and as such focus more on Him. He wants us to seek and obey Him the more. As we do these, He promised that He will help us to build ‘fortified cities’, He will make us to experience quietness and enjoy rest. He will also prosper us greatly. May all these be our portion as we enter 2014 in Jesus name. Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

s 2013 was running to an end. I began to ask God what He will do for us in the year 2014. Few weeks ago, God impressed it on my heart that He is making us to enter into an era of New Beginnings. He said, He will fulfil our time in the year 2014. Our time will be 8 years in 2014, 8 been a number of new beginning. God said, ‘Though I have taken you to a time of completion at 7 years, yet I’m ready to start work on you afresh’. In Gen. 1:1-4, prior to the beginning, God made the heaven and the earth. God reside in heaven, but the earth was without form and void, and also dark. At a later stage, God decided He wanted to make a new beginning with the earth and He began with light and other things, until He could confirm that the earth was equally good. God recently told me that what He intends for Everlasting Father’s Assembly to become is not yet revealed.’I am about to begin anew with you’, He said. ‘I will take you back to Genesis i.e Creation and re-make you’. He said, He will make us into a more impressive form, shape and brilliance.’I will also introduce a new kind of light into you to make your difference from before very obvious’. He said. Do you know that Manufacturers remake their products mainly for two reasons? (1) They identified a fault or error in the system after usage. (2) They just desire to make something nicer; more current or a newer model. God said regarding Everlasting Father’s Assembly, He will repair every faults within our system in 2014. He has also desire to make us into something more glorious. When we started in 2006, we were like something without form and shape, it looks like few people joking. Thank God for then and glory be to God for now. Today, God says, ‘I will start you again in your 8th year’. He said, He will take us back to the things we enjoyed in our first start and then make us to experience even more. God then gave me our anchor scripture as: Exodus 12:2 -This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. The daylight of 1st January shall be the beginning of months and years to us; it shall also be the first month of 2014. Everything that has happened to us before now are just occurrences before our real beginning. He said your enjoyment up till now is just like a test drive. You will now begin to move about confidently and comfortably. Hear again the promise from God to us for 2014. Revelation 21:5-6 -And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely. By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

Go, And The Lord Be With Thee By Pastor Aderemi ADELUGBA

ANUARY is our month of Great Strides. The meaning of strides is to take a step in walking towards an aim, and to make significant progress in that journey. Taking these steps requires considerable speed and determination. This month, your journey to your destination will not be terminated, you will move with great strides, and the Lord will be with you in Jesus name God has spoken concerning your destination, and as you have great plans and aspirations, God wants you to go now, and He will be with you. You will move forward and finish your journey in Jesus name. Deuteronomy 1:6-8 states, the Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: 7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. 8 Behold, I have set the land before you: go in and possess the land which the Lord sware unto your fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, to give unto them and to their seed after them. In Genesis 11:31 -32: And Terah took Abram his son, and Lot the son of Haran his son's son, and Sarai his daughter in law, his son Abram's wife; and they went forth with them from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan; and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there. 32 And the days of Terah were two hundred and five years: and Terah died in Haran. Terah started a journey; he had big plans and aspirations. His initial plan was to go from Ur of the Chaldees, and go to the land of Canaan. He took all his family members with him. But guess what? Terah got to Haran and stopped there. Terah’s destination was Canaan, but the bible states, and they came unto Haran, and dwelt there, and he died there. Terah settled down half way. May be it was a result of tiredness, or lack of strides and power. He did not reach his destination. You will not die in the middle of the road this month in Jesus’ name. Haran was meant to be a bus stop (like a Service on the motorway). Yes, there is nothing wrong in stopping to refresh at a place like Haran and review your plan. But anytime you stop and settle at Haran, there is a problem. Abram, on the other hand, received a message from God, and the instruction was for him to leave his settlement, and proceed to a bigger place. In Genesis 12:1, the scripture states, now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will show thee. The instruction to Abram was clear – Get Thee Out. God want you to begin to move, and accomplish that which your family could not achieve, move forward with great strides. God wants you to leave everything that has pinned your life down at Haran, and, those that have retarded your speed last year, and begin to make great strides. God says, Get Thee Out and begin to make progress. Abram has a journey, and each and every one of us has a journey we must embark upon. There can never be a better time to embark on those journeys than now. There are 7 things God will do for you as you make new strides this month – Gen 12: 2-3 And I will make of thee a great nation, I will bless thee, Make thy name great; thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, Curse him that curseth thee: thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. The indication from above is that, God has called you to go, His eyes will go with you, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will bring you to safe destination. God wants to make you a blessing as you journey through this month, but you must move with speed. In 1 Samuel 17: 1-51, we saw how Goliath threatened the Israelites. David heard all the threats and thought he needed to make a move at the enemy. You will receive the same ability to face your Goliath this year in Jesus name. Running with speed and power: For 40 days, the Philistines confronted the Israelites, but one day, somebody had to be sent forth to the battle front, and they must need to run with great strides. What Will You Have Me Do?

By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye UR God is a hardworking Being. He does not sleep nor slumber. He is still watching over His creation. He does not like lazy and indolence people as well. In John 5:17, Jesus said that His Father still works, and so He was working too. John 5:17 - But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. As Jesus worked here on earth, He worked tirelessly, especially as He knew that He had a short time stay. John 9:4 - I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day:the night cometh, when no man can work. He also employed the help of people who worked with Him. He had twelve apostles and other disciples who He asked that they should become 'fishers of men' for Him.
