The Three Types of Men

HERE are many ways that men can be classified. As I read again this text, God began to talk to me through the passage that men can as well be grouped into three. A sample of 32,000 men was used for this study. But because it’s not just men that are in church today. Wherever I mentioned men, you can replace it with Christians. 1. The fearful and the unbelieving - 22,000 or 68% - very sad The ten spies sent to Canaan - Numbers 13:31-33 Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we are.” So they brought to the people of Israel a bad report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land, through which we have gone to spy it out, is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people that we saw in it are of great height. And there we saw the Nephilim (the sons of Anak, who come from the Nephilim), and we seemed to ourselves like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.” Apostle Thomas - not only was he afraid of the Jews after the death of Jesus. He would still not believe that his colleagues had seen Jesus resurrected. What are you afraid of? Some will claim they are not fearful. Simply pass them through a test of fear and you will know. Though, a proverb of Yoruba says, it’s when a child has not reach a fearful place that's why he says he's not afraid of anything. But when threats come, what do you do? What is the word or the promise of God that you did not believe out rightly? Why do you doubt it? Is it because it hadn't happened before? Or you are not sure God is real? Revelation 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.” 2. The weak and the careless - 9,700 or 30.3% It is good that these people were not fearful or doubtful. The problem with them is that they faint easily. I don't know how far the brook is to where they had camped. The truth is that the water will not run away or finished. They won't even see their front if the enemies were coming! Are you someone that faint easily? Do you easily get fed up? Are you easily overwhelmed with pressures of life? May be you are always careless about life. You do not have any foresight of your tomorrow. You need to pray to God for strength. The congregation of the people weeping in camp - Numbers 14:1-4

Text: Judges 7: 1-8 - By Pastor Samuel OBAFAIYE

Then all the congregation raised a loud cry, and the people wept that night. And all the people of Israel grumbled against Moses and Aaron. The whole congregation said to them, “Would that we had died in the land of Egypt! Or would that we had died in this wilderness! Why is the Lord bringing us into this land, to fall by the sword? Our wives and our little ones will become a prey. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?” And they said to one another, “Let us choose a leader and go back to Egypt.” Apostles going back to fishing They have seen the resurrected Jesus. It's not that Jesus was still in the tomb. What could make them go back to fishing? Possibly, they were low on rations. People could have donated to them more when QUOTE Jesus was with them. Better If you faint in the day still, Jesus could have of adversity, your strength multiplied whatever they had. is small. It was like before hunger killed us, we better go fishing. Are Proverbs 24:10 you thinking that this faith thing does pay off? Are you going through a shortage or trying time and you wanted to quit? Proverbs 24:10: If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. READ THE FULL VERSION OF THIS SERMON AT http://rccgleeds.org.uk/news/sermons

CONGREGATIONAL HYMN MY FAITH HAS FOUND A RESTING PLACE

My faith has found a resting place, Not in device or creed; I trust the ever living One, His wounds for me shall plead. Refrain I need no other argument, I need no other plea, It is enough that Jesus died, And that He died for me. Enough for me that Jesus saves, This ends my fear and doubt; A sinful soul I come to Him, He’ll never cast me out. Refrain My heart is leaning on the Word, The living Word of God, Salvation by my Savior’s Name, Salvation through His blood. Refrain My great Physician heals the sick, The lost He came to save; For me His precious blood He shed, For me His life He gave. - By Minister Gabriel ADUNMADE

T is yet another father’s day celebration. We give all glory to God for keeping us alive, not only alive but alive in Him throughout the year. May His name be praised forever more in our lives. You will agree with me that not every father or every individual who witness last year father’s day on the surface of the earth are alive today. Not that the sins of those who have passed away were more serious than ours, nor are we more righteous, it is just the grace and mercy of God that has kept us thus far. It is my earnest prayer that that grace and mercy will continue to abound on us in Jesus name. And if Jesus tarries, we shall witness many more in Jesus name. If He comes before next year father’s day, none of us will be around to witness it as we would have gone with Him. What is father’s day and why do we have to celebrate it? Father’s day is a celebration honouring father and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bounds and influence of fathers in society. The importance of father in every society cannot be over emphasized. The society is in a mess today because many fathers fail to play their roles as father. We will not fail in our responsibilities in Jesus name. The theme for this year father’s day is “Father of mercies, God of comfort” {2 Corinthians 1 vs3}. The word comfort here means to stand beside a person, encouraging and helping in time of trouble. God demonstrated this role as father by sending to us Holy Spirit who is referred to as comforter in John 14 vs. 16. God expects us as fathers to stand beside our wives and children to encourage, help and guide them. In conclusion, I will leave us with words of God through Solomon in Proverb 20 vs 7: The righteous man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. For us to be father and father indeed, we need to guide our integrity jealously. To the rest of the congregation, May I encourage us to accord these fathers all the necessary moral supports they need from us to help them discharge their duties. Wives and children have important roles to play in making fathers fulfilled. God will help every one of us in Jesus name. Once again, happy father’s day!!! Courageous Men Would Conquer Nations

Numbers 13:1-33 - By Minister Aderemi ADELUGBA

J

OSHUA 1:1-6 - There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them. The Bible lists several men who were the kind of men God would want us to follow as examples for our life. Men like Moses, Joshua, David, Elijah, Elisha, Job, Daniel and Paul demonstrated great faith and courage. They had the boldness of the Lord. Although, they experienced problems, they conquered in various ways in life. I pray we would be like them in Jesus name. If you must conquer nations like these men, you have a part to play in the game. Courage is required if you must enter into a sea when you have never swum before. Courage and understanding would encourage you of how to come out if you get into a difficulty. The word of the Lord to the people in Joshua 1:1-6 was clear. Whether you are a man or a woman, for you to conquer nations, courage is required. You have been faithful and the Lord has shown you kindness. Now you need to play your part, start adding courage to your faith and you will conquer nations in Jesus name. Moses as a leader went from being timid to becoming a bold man of God. He was known as a great leader. He was greatly used by God to deliver His people from bondage.
