How Will You Be Remembered? - By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye BOUT a year ago (2004), Jide Salu interviewed our Gen. Overseer on BEN TV, at the end of the interview; he asked Pastor Adeboye how he will like to be remembered. Pastor Adeboye answered, “…as a young man who tried to seek God, and when he had found Him, did not let go”. At the end of the interview, I said in my spirit, “I will like to be remembered like that”. But the Spirit of the Lord said, “Yes & No. Yes, because it is possible. No, except you are ready to work for me continuously in holiness as he has been doing”. The understanding here is that everyone has to individually work or labour for what he/she wants to be remembered by or with e.g. Paul wrote in II Tim. 4: 6-8 and said, “I have fought a good fight…crown of righteousness..”. He chose to ‘fight’ a good fight of faith. The questions are: (1) What have you been investing in your living on the earth that will guarantee a good remembrance for you later on in life or in the life to come? (2) What have you done in life that has put your footprint on the sands of time? (3) Has this been positive or negative? I should quickly add that it’s not only when ones dies that he/she is been remembered. They are two kinds of departures and therefore two types of remembrances. There is permanent departure (which is when one dies), Heb. 9:27 confirm this. There is also the temporal departure (change of locality), Acts 13:1-3 confirm this. When I was a child, there was a wise saying among adults that says, “20 children cannot play together for 20 years”. Then I thought that was a wicked sentence, because I loved my friends so much. But not too long, it started happening to us. Some went to distant secondary schools, after that I joined the military. The Bible also confirms that it is a fact of life (Eccl. 3: 1-8). Many of us have come to Leeds to study and after a while will like to go back home, some have come to work for a while and then go back, some are in transit to another place, some have decided to reside here for a long time but not till death. Some have chosen this place as their final resting place. The truth is that we will not all be here together for a lifetime. Therefore, the main issue is, how will you be remembered after you’ve gone or you have been left back here? Let’s have a look at how some people were remembered in the Bible, we can then either associate or disassociate ourselves with what they have done to get the type of remembrance you desire. There are 3 bad examples and 5 good ones, but I will implore you to identify yourself with the good examples, so that your memory will be sweet: Vasti (Esther 2:1), she was boastful, proud, self-glorified, having superiority complex. I pray that God will change whosoever among us that have such a character in Jesus name. Amalekites (Dt. 25: 17-19), killing from behind - backbiting, destiny fighter/destroyer, added burden. May the Lord change such people. Demas – Col. 4:14, Philemon 2:4. But sadly 2 Tim. 4:10 – deserter, backslider, disloyal, unreliable, draw backs. May that not describe you. Moses (Dt. 34: 10-12), knew God face-to-face, wrought signs and wonders, hears from God. If you desire this memory, I pray that the Lord will take you there. Joseph (Gen. 40,41), power to reveal secret and hidden things, gifts to discern the unknown, gift of revelation. May the Lord grant it to you in Jesus name. Hannah (I Sam. 1: 11,19, 24-28), keeping vows and promises, indulge in sacrificial giving. If you want a good remembrance, you must build good integrity (Ps. 15: 4b). Cornelius (Acts 10: 1-4), devoted to God, loves giving and sharing, cherish relationships, fervent in prayers. You can also do all these to invest in a good remembrance. Jesus (Luke 24: 30, Mt. 6:33 ), put God first, seek every opportunity to thank God. If you keep this, definitely, you will have a good memorial. Why pay attention to your remembrance since you won’t be there? Your remembrance determines your reward (I Cor. 3: 12-15). Connotes your worth/respect in the heaven and in hell (Acts 19: 13-17). How do I build good character/attribute towards a good remembrance? Avoid evil communications (I Cor. 15:33), how can hot and cold come from the same source? Flee every appearances of evil, pray continually, show gratitude to God and men, always leave vengeance to God, help the weak and the needy (I Thes. 5: 14-22). Separate yourself from sinners, the ungodly and the mockers (Ps. 1:1). Can a bad remembrance be made good? John Mark example – Acts 13:5,13; 15:37-39. He was however later helpful to Paul towards the end .

EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES However, there are instances where you have probably tried your best in these areas, but out of envy, jealousy and hatred, some people might want to create false information about you to stain your remembrance e.g. John 9: 24-25. More so, some can even connive to lie and mortgage or ruin your remembrance for ever. It has happened before (Mt. 28: 11-15). It is sad to know that the number of born-again Christian in Israel is so few because of the record concerning His resurrection. However, the Bible tells us that very soon all eyes will see Him when He comes back again! If you are going through this form of evil arranged memorial, God said I should tell you that your true remembrance is about to be revealed. That He will expose the lies against you, and He will also expose the liars behind the lies in Jesus name. Excerpts of a sermon delivered by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye on 20th January 2013. The sermon was first preached in 2005.

REAMBLE is defined as a preliminary or preparatory statement which states the reason for the rest of the document; an introduction to a formal document that serve to explain its purpose; preface; or prelude. Many prospective students need to send such preamble of their proposed thesis before they are admitted into University. Others send such preamble for them to obtain scholarships for their Research Programme. It is only great preambles that gets chosen, especially when competition is keen. God told Abraham to leave his father's house, his land and kindred and proceed to a place He would show him, and that blessing will await him (Gen. 12:1-3). I don't see Abraham leaving home with many things, because of the uncertainty of the trip, and because blessing is promised at the destination. So, God needed to show him the preamble of the blessing promised to encourage him. This came as a surprised gift from who should have been an enemy - king Pharaoh of Egypt (Gen. 12:1116). Though Abraham was somehow in error to go to Egypt without asking God and also risking his wife's life. God had mercy on him and grant him great preamble of His promise. In this month of January, God will introduce His intended 2013 blessings to us. He will give us preparatory and preliminary touch of His greatness in Jesus name. He will make us to find favour with 'Pharaohs' of this land. The natural endowments of this land will come to us as gifts in Jesus n a m e . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”. For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye

THE RCCG (WORLDWIDE) 2013 PROPHECY THEME: YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)

My God Had Done All Things Well Text: Mark 7:31-37

- By Dr Aderemi Adelugba

UR God is the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the everlasting Father and indeed, the omnipotent God (Rev 19:16). God is able to do all things, and He can open all closed doors. When God speaks to situations and issues of life, they listen to Him. This means you cannot do anything by your own power, except by His intervention. Psalm 127:1 says, Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it... The Lord spoke the word EPHPHATHA meaning “Be opened” to the deafness that plagued the life of the man in the book of Mark 7:34 and, deafness gave way to hearing. Few examples of how the King of Kings hath done all things so well: a. In Exodus 17:1-6 When the Israelites experienced dryness, and there was no water for them to drink. He miraculously brought water out of the rock. The rock listened to the instruction and the taps in the rock opened. b. In Ezekiel 37:13, God reversed the irreversible - He made the dry bones to miraculously come together to begin to live again. His lordship over the people of Israel prevailed. So bones listened and received the instruction from God and life entered into it. c. In Genesis 49: 3-4, God reversed the curse placed upon Reuben by Jacob. The curse was in force until one day, when God saw that they were prepared to stand with Him, and not with the idols. He reversed the curse. Every curse in your life will be reversed today. This sermon today is to encourage us that Jesus is in the business of doing all things, and doing them well. He is indeed our indispensable God. He protects and He heals (Ps 91:7). He has asked you to come unto him if you are laboured and heavy laden, He promised to give you rest, and He would not fail. I don’t know what has been making you to get tired, or, things you have been losing sleep over. It might be your examination, project, job or health. God is the God of perfection. He would speak His words Ephphatha to your situation today and, those situations will hear the Lord in Jesus name. Amen. Today, you might be wondering why we are preaching about healing, I am speaking on the power of our Lord Jesus Christ. I want you to understand that every closed opportunities or closed road for you in 2013 is beginning to open of their own accord in Jesus name. In the remaining 11 months of this year 2013, you will not be deaf to hear the good news from God in Jesus name. In Gen 2:7, Adam was created and was lifeless without God’s breath. When the breath of the Lord went into him, every organ in his body received life, and he became a complete man. Therefore, God can transform your incompleteness to be complete. You are a finished product created by God. The deaf man’s case (Mark 7: 31-37). Hearing loss exists when there is diminished sensitivity to the sounds normally heard, and deafness is the degree of impairment such that a person is unable to understand speech, even in the presence of amplification. In total deafness, regardless of amplification or method of production, no sound is heard by someone who is deaf. Causes of deafness include age, noise, genetic, chemical, medication, illness and some physical traumas. I pray none of these would be our portion in Jesus name. The Bible tells us that, this man was deaf and had speech impediments. All these could potentially have been a defect from birth. He basically had no future. No employment and very limited friends, probably like-minded. In other word, he was so handicapped until he met Jesus Christ. People around him recognised the healing power of the Lord Jesus. They had experienced Jesus one way or the other. So, they helped him to his salvation, healing and power. If there is any strongholds not letting you go, today there shall be movement in Jesus name. You may say to yourself that I am sound and healthy. I am not blind nor deaf, not crippled or paralysed. However, if you don’t know the Lord and the power of His resurrection, it would be far more serious than blindness. The Lord Jesus saved Him and healed Him using a strategy that was different from the one he used before. The Lord spoke the word, “Ephphatha”, and straightaway, his ears were healed and his tongue was loosed. He could hear and speak. The whole people at the meeting were amazed to the extent that they went out publicising the name of the Lord – They affirmed and sang: He Hath Done All Things Well (Mark 7:37). Jesus Christ, the name changer: The name of this man changed from simply a “blind man” to a man who enjoyed the miraculous power of the Lord Jesus Christ. So his fame and testimony went worldwide, like the Lord made the fame of Joshua to be heard abroad after the fall of Jericho (Joshua 7:27). If you have a problem in your life which is troubling you, whether physical or spiritual, it may not be deafness as mentioned here, it could be something related to your family, marriage, job, education etc. God will begin to make you whole today in Jesus name. Your situation will hear the word of God and He will do all things well for you and your families in Jesus name. Amen. What do I need to do? (1) Have total faith: If you don’t have complete faith in the Lord, it would be difficult for your problem to listen when the word is spoken by the Lord Jesus Christ. (2) Have genuine expectation: Expectation is a fire starter and can destroy stagnancy. Your expectation will be granted in Jesus name (3) Have a positive attitude. Say to yourself, I can do all things through Christ Phil 3: 13. Excerpts of an exhortation by Dr Aderemi Adelugba on January 20th 2013 at RCCG Everlasting Father’s Arena, York.
