The Unusual God
- By Deacon Victor OLOBANIYI
Ezekiel 37:1-10, Ps. 119:89, Is. 40:8, Mk 13:31, Num 23:19, Rms 3:3-4
want to believe that all of us is convinced and not confused that whatever is written in the Bible is true and forever settled.
The Bible has no editions, such as 1,2,3 …. I has been constant and it will continue to be. I serve an unusual God that does unusual things in unusual ways. Recently I had unusual encounter with the unusual God and He did some unusual things in my life that I will like to share some with you this morning. God took prophet Ezekiel in chapter 37 to an open valley full of dry bones and asked him a very “tempting” question which prophet Ezekiel was also diplomatic in answering. As I think his long and level of knowledge about God made not to be categorically blunt on this occasion. Vs 3 says: Son of man can these bones live? But Ezekiel said “Oh Lord, thou knowest.” (Ezekiel might have thought in his mind, “Why tempt ye me,” Oh Lord). But God being the unusual God instructed Ezekiel to prophesy upon the dry bones and he will cause His breath to enter into them and they shall live again. In a nutshell, the dead and very dry bones eventually became an exceeding great army – Ezekiel 37:10. This morning I want to challenge you with these scriptures we have just read. Maybe there are areas in your life that you have considered dead and dried, or in a state of absolute hopelessness. As the breathe of God enter into those hopelessly dead and dry bones (situations), they will live again in Jesus name. The other texts we read is to confirm to you that once God says it, it is settled forever. Is your SPIRITUAL life considered dead and dried. Before you do fast and pray effortlessly with the help of the Holy spirit, but now it is a big struggle to pray not to talk of fasting, which see,s to be out of plan completely. By the mercy of God, your spiritual life will jerk back to life in Jesus name. Can it be your CAREER that seems to be in the state of complete hopelessness, you were a manager or highly placed before you came to this land. But now you are doing what you will have considered “abomination”. I prophesy in the name of Jesus, your career shall live again. Your MARRIAGE may be speaking quietly inside of you, “I am dead and dried , just forget about me. I have good news for you this morning, at the breath of the Lord, your marriage is coming back to life. You may have before been well established in BUSINESS. But everything seems to be going down the drain in your very eyes. At the name above all names, your business will bounce back and your song shall be, I didn't know you can favour me this way (x4), thank you Jesus. What about your FINANCES? You are working, but it has become a normal trend that not only that your account is in red but you will have to borrow to get by before the next pay cheque. Listen to me sir/ma, I serve a God, whose name is Jehovah Jireh, and in that name from now henceforth, I decree you will borrow no more (Amen). In your ACADEMICS, are you about to give up on it? The Psalmist says “I have more understanding than all my teachers, because thy testimonies are my meditations” (Ps. 119:99). If the word of God can never fail then you WILL NOT fail again. Could it be that the so called medical experts have given you a report about your HEALTH? And the devil in the spiritual realm has issued you death certificate. In the name above all names, Jehovah Rapha, I declare your health restored in Jesus name (Amen). In conclusion, you will pray like this: “Oh Lord, according to your word in Ezekiel 37:5 cause your breath to enter into me and let … (mention your situation) live again. I will hear your testimonies in Jesus name (Amen). I can see everything turning around (4x) READ MORE SERMONS AT - http://rccgleeds.org.uk/news/sermons Excerpts of a sermon delivered by Deacon Victor OLOBANIYI on 19th May,2013.
The Not Sleeping God
LEEPING is something that virtually all living organism observe. Humans, animals and even plants (stomata) do sleep. Through sleep, zoological organism’s lost energy is replenished; the brain gets to rest; dead tissues are replaced; physical growth is experienced; etc. It is interesting to note that gods do sleep as well! In the land of Egypt, when Moses and Aaron were declaring the power of God by bringing down plaques upon the people, the Bible said the magician of Egypt would replicate the same thing too. But when it came to the third plaque of lice, the gods of Egypt went to sleep (Ex. 8:16-19). Also at the contest on Mount Carmel, when Elijah was faced with the 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah; the God that would send fire from the sky and consume their prepared sacrifice was to be acclaimed God by all! The prophet of Baal agreed to the contest because they believed their god would send the fire or has sent such fire before. Unfortunately, on that fateful day, Baal was asleep. So it happened that the God of Elijah was acclaimed the Living God (I Kings 18:18-39). Psalm 121:4 tells us that the God of Israel does not sleep nor slumber. This is great news to us who believe in this God. It means that we are enjoying 24/7 heavenly surveillance and nothing can happen to us that is unknown to God. In this month of May, the Almighty God will be very active in our lives; He will not let anything bad happen to us; He will also answer us promptly whenever we call upon Him in Jesus name. THE RCCG (EVERLASTING FATHER’S ASSEMBLY) 2013 PROPHECY. THEME: OUR YEAR OF GOD’S REST Isaiah 65: 21-24, Isaiah 14:1-4
WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”. For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye
THE RCCG (WORLDWIDE) 2013 PROPHECY
Year of Signs & Wonders
FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)

The Living And Steadfast God is the Keeper of My Life Dan 6: 26 - By Dr. Aderemi ADELUGBA
N Psalm 121:1, the Psalmist declared his total dependence and trust on the living and steadfast God. He composed the song and, his fellow brethren sang along to praise God. They reflected on the Lord’s goodness throughout the journey of their live, especially, how they walked over the dry ground in the middle of the sea - Exodus 14:21-22. Also, the way the Lord won all their battles for them. The conclusion was that, the Lord we serve is an unfailing God. I pray the Lord will not be asleep concerning your case in Jesus name. The scripture says, I will lift up my eyes unto the hill, from whence cometh my help? You must know the God you serve, before you can cry out to Him in the days of trouble. If you don’t have a relationship with God, you are basically wasting your time. Because situations of life may well confront you, and ask where is your God? You will be able to tell them you are serving a living God, who neither sleeps nor slumbers. When issues of life comes, the presence of the Lord will be with you, like He did for Moses in Exodus 33:11-16, And God answered Moses and He showed him His presence. The Lord said my presence shall go with thee and I will give thee rest. God is not slack concerning your situation and, He will not fall asleep in Jesus name. All He demands from you is faithfulness, and your life would enjoy His mercies. God is the maker of heaven and earth, and He has all the help in his hands. Your maker knows your future. He created you and, He knows the end of the matter from the beginning. Therefore, nothing shall be difficult for him to do. In Exodus 33:17, the Lord said unto Moses, I will do this thing that thou hast spoken: for thou hast found grace in my sight, and I know thee by name. For the Lord to answer your prayer, you need to have a relationship with Him. The three Hebrew children knew their God, and they boldly said unto Nebuchadnezzar, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king (Daniel 3:17). The Lord will not allow any form of evil to overpower you in Jesus name. The Psalmist says, He would not let your feet slips when you walk. The Lord sustained the widow who was carrying loads of debt on her shoulder, He provided for her need, and her debt was miraculously paid off, and on top of that, she remained a blessing (2 King 4:1-7). Whenever you are looking for a helper, God will raise many for you in Jesus name. In Psalm 121: 5-7, the Psalmist says, the Lord is the keeper of our souls and shields us from all evils. The Lord is able to take evil away from you. He will take disgrace away from you and, He will set you free when the enemies gang up against you in Jesus name. Mordecai was marked for evil by Haman. He had already built gallows in preparation for Mordecai’s death (Esther 5:14), but the Lord who is the keeper of souls, and the one who shields us from evil, changed the game. Then the gallows Haman built for Mordecai was used for his own death. So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had made for Modecai, then was the king’s wrath pacified (Esther 7:10). You will win over your adversaries in Jesus name. As many as are planning evil for you, the Lord will arise and win your battles in Jesus name. Do not be afraid, the Lord who won the battle for David, is able to fight and win your battles in Jesus name. In Daniel 6:1-22, Daniel was described as a man with an excellent spirit of God. He was preferred over presidents and princes. Despite his position, he was faced with an enormous risk of being consumed by lions, but guess what? God did not fall asleep concerning his case. The Lord wanted his life to be an example unto others. In Daniel 6: 1-24, we saw how the Lord made the lions to fall asleep when he was in the den with them. Even King Dairus was amazed of what was to become of Daniel, but the Lord whom we serve, never fails. He is able to keep watch on you, even when you are unaware that the enemies are all over you. The Lord kept watch over Daniel, and, he returned to the surface unscathed. I pray you will not be overwhelmed by trouble in Jesus name. For God to be alert concerning your situations, you must know the Lord you serve and take note of the following points. Acknowledge God even when you are at the top: Daniel acknowledged God always, even when he was in a position of authority and responsibilities. It is by the grace of God that you are where you are today. Thousands of people would have been appointed over you, but God loved and showed you favour. Daniel was not part of the royal family, yet he was made the head of King Darius’s government. He headed a council of 120 princes with responsibilities, yet he found time to acknowledge God.
