JANUARY 2013 THEME: GREAT PREAMBLE
FROM THE PULPIT
Be Prepared For God’s Next Move - By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye OD is a progressive Being. He does things in increasing manner. We His children must follow in His footsteps. The creation of the earth was done in progressive order
. Deuteronomy 1:6-7 6 The Lord our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount: 7 Turn you, and take your journey, and go to the mount of the Amorites, and unto all the places nigh thereunto, in the plain, in the hills, and in the vale, and in the south, and by the sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and unto Lebanon, unto the great river, the river Euphrates. The Isrealites stayed at Mount Horeb for a year. They must have found some comfort there for them not wanting to move forward. But one day the cloud of glory began to move towards Canaan and so they were forced to move off. Are you seemingly comfortable with life? You now have your wife/husband and you think that's all what God has in store for you? May be you have cars, houses, children, nice garments, academic qualifications, etc. That is not all there is about life, a next move is necessary. The children of Isreal at a time were comfortable staying at this side of the Jordan River. But God said His promise to Abraham supersede this side of Jordan. Canaan was their ultimate. Do not be comfortable at this side of your Jordan. Aspire to reach your Canaan land. A greater blessing awaits you there. If it's not Canaan, it cant be like it. There was a time when 12 spies were sent out to look at Canaan and bring report back. 10 people brought back bad news and just 2 brought good news. So the people refused to move forward until they got punished by God. May we not disobey Christ. People fail in life because they permitted it. If one accepts defeat of failure, the failure is certain. So don't quit, you will reach your goal and you will proceed forward in Jesus name. The light bulb we use today was an experiment of a man called Thomas Edison. He tried several times before he got it right. Today, we press a switch and brightness comes. At Horeb, the Isrealites possibly had manna, quail, rainfall, pasture, etc. They were in a way comfortable. But it wasn't the Promised Land. They still needed to advance, fought more battles, acquire more lands from the inhabitants of Canaan. As human beings, we prefer to embrace the known to the unknown. But the victories of before should be able to propel us through the challenges of today and the anticipations of tomorrow. There is still more advancement to be done, more battles to fight and more lands to be conquered. May God help us to forge ahead in Jesus name. People were weakening the spirit of David regarding Goliath. He however knew that God that delivered him from lion and bear could as well helped him. The same God that helped you before is still there for you today and even tomorrow. REASONS FOR NOT WANTING TO MOVE Failures of the past. Does your memories keep reminding you of the last time you failed. That was then, God is moving you up this time in Jesus name. Stories of people who had tried something like that and failed. But if it's God move for you, then you will succeed. HOW TO PREPARE FOR GOD’S NEXT MOVE Forget the past Philippians 3:13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. Abraham Lincoln did it and was successful. 1832 - Defeated in state legislation 1843 - Defeated for congress 1848 - Defeated for congress again 1855 - Defeated for senate 1856 - Defeated for VP candidacy 1858 - Defeated for senate again. 1860 - Became the President of USA and one of he greatest. Be positive. Raise your expectations. Take your eyes off the negativities of life. Be focussed. For example, While the people were looking at the stature of Goliath. David was looking for smooth stones that will not miss target to the only exposed part of Goliath body (his temple). At Ziglak, David encouraged himself in the Lord (I Sam 30:1-6). Be determined and zealous to succeed. Don't leave room for failure at all. Continued on Page 5
REAMBLE is defined as a preliminary or preparatory statement which states the reason for the rest of the document; an introduction to a formal document that serve to explain its purpose; preface; or prelude. Many prospective students need to send such preamble of their proposed thesis before they are admitted into University. Others send such preamble for them to obtain scholarships for their Research Programme. It is only great preambles that gets chosen, especially when competition is keen. God told Abraham to leave his father's house, his land and kindred and proceed to a place He would show him, and that blessing will await him (Gen. 12:1-3). I don't see Abraham leaving home with many things, because of the uncertainty of the trip, and because blessing is promised at the destination. So, God needed to show him the preamble of the blessing promised to encourage him. This came as a surprised gift from who should have been an enemy - king Pharaoh of Egypt (Gen. 12:1116). Though Abraham was somehow in error to go to Egypt without asking God and also risking his wife's life. God had mercy on him and grant him great preamble of His promise. In this month of January, God will introduce His intended 2013 blessings to us. He will give us preparatory and preliminary touch of His greatness in Jesus name. He will make us to find favour with 'Pharaohs' of this land. The natural endowments of this land will come to us as gifts in Jesus n a m e . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye
THE RCCG (EVERLASTING FATHER’S ASSEMBLY) 2013 PROPHECY. THEME: OUR YEAR OF GOD’S REST Isaiah 65: 21-24, Isaiah 14:1-4
WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”. For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye
THE RCCG (WORLDWIDE) 2013 PROPHECY THEME: YEAR OF SIGNS AND WONDERS FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)

Text: Haggai. 2: 1-9
- By Sister Ovonomo Onocha
OD is ever faithful as He cannot deny Himself. He has promised us latter rains. People make promises and fail to keep them, but God never breaks His promises. The Lord promised that the glory of the latter shall be greater than the former (Haggai 2:9). The bible says that our bod ies are the temple of the Holy Spirit, and it’s God’s will that the glory of the latter be greater than the former; that is, the place where God is taking you to, should be greater than where you were.
In the third verse of the second chapter of our text, God said ‘who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? The temple being referred to in this text was that which Solomon built, but something had happened to it. I bring a word of encouragement to someone, who might be wondering how they got to this point, as compared to where they used to be. Be encouraged, God is on your side. It’s the Lord’s desire that He fills us with new anointing every day. He desires that His glory be renewed in our lives daily. God is looking for people (single, married and children) that He will pour out His Spirit on (Joel 2: 28). How awesome it will be, when we are gathered together, and there’s a word of knowledge, a word of wisdom, a prophecy, and a gift of healing. Let us continue to shine the light of Jesus in us, so people can see the difference in us. God anointed Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit and with power, and He went about doing good; the dead encountered Him and lived again, the sick people encountered Him and were healed, the blind encountered Him and received sight, and the waves became calm when He spoke to them. Jesus went into the temple, and He saw that the temple had become a shopping centre, and He began to overturn the tables of the money changers. He said ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves’ (Matt 21:13). I pray in the name of Jesus, that your life shall be a life of prayer. I pray that we shall be partakers of the latter rains that God is sending out in Jesus name, Amen. Excerpts of an exhortation by Sister Ovonomo Onocha on December 23rd 2012 at the Singles Day at RCCG Everlasting Father’s Assembly, Leeds.
Be Prepared For God’s Next Move - Pastor Samuel Obafaiye Continued from Page 2 Romans 8:38-39- 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. e.g Roman soldiers in Britain, they were told to climb the cliff at Dover and watch the ships that brought them go up in flames. It was to let them know that there was no retreat but to advance and to conquer. Commit your ways into God's hands. He will then direct your path. Psalms 37:5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Make new moves. Seek to press forward Philippians 3:14 - I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Thomas Edison laboratory in New Jersey got burnt in 1914 when he was 67 years old. He lost $1 million and records of his inventions. As he walked through the ruins, he said "There is value in disaster. All our mistakes are burnt. Now, we must start again". How prepared are you for God next move? PRAYERS Almighty Father, help me to prepare for your next move in my life. Almighty Father, wrought your signs and wonders in my life. Almighty Father, let me be a perfect example for your goodness and mercy. Excerpts of a sermon delivered by Pastor Samuel Obafaiye at RCCG Everlasting Father’s
Make Room For More - Pastor Sam Adeyemi
HIS is the year to do the right thing fearlessly. It is important to remember that you disqualify yourself once you compromise your stand in God and in Christ. Each time you compromise in order to get a promotion or an advantage, its an expression of lack of trust in God. No weapon that can hurt you has ever been created (Gen. 22: 16-17). The key to opening the door of miracles for the next twelve months is to create an atmosphere of celebration around your life perpetually - whether it makes sense or not. That way, you will attract God’s presence and cause Him to arise on your behalf. Praise is an act of faith. Don’t forget the prophetic instruction SING. The starting point however, is a personal relationship with God. That is the foundation. Excerpts from Make Room For More, Message by Pastor Sam Adeyemi, Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos.
