Our God is Able Text: 2 Cor 8:9
- By Pastor Musa BAKO
HE God that we serve is able to do anything. He is able to fix all things. He can solve any problem and resolve any situation. He can meet any need. He can change anybody. He can bring something out of nothing. He calleth those things which be not as though they were. God can change your situation and solve all your problems. He can change your story. He can turn your life around for good. I have come to accept the truth that there is nothing impossible with God. With God, all things are possible. I have seen God do amazing things. He can turn a nobody to an important person in 24 hours. There is a lady in our Parish who had been married for over 20 years without a baby. The doctors said her womb is flat and can never carry a baby. Last year, God visited her and gave her a boy called Samuel God is alive. May He grant you a 24 hour miracle in Jesus name. May He do something that is profound in your life in Jesus name. God is able to make all grace abound towards you. There is what is called ‘all grace’. The grace of God is the enabling power that is put upon a man to enable him succeeds in the things that he does, so that he can fulfil the purpose for which God has created him. There is grace for every sphere of life, so that someone can have grace in health but not in wealth. Someone else can have grace in education and not in career. So, though with a fantastic result, but no job. Some are blessed with good marriage but struggled to have children. Another person may have fantastic ideas but no financial power to turn it to a successful business. However, the bible says God can make all grace sufficiently abound towards you. This means, you can have God’s grace in great measure, in an overflowing manner. How one fare in life is determined by the level of grace we carry. There are people in life that can never go past a certain level no matter how hard they work, because the amount of grace that are able to attract in their lives has limited them. Grace is a limiting factor. The grace of God upon your life subjects you to a certain level. Paul was who he was because of the grace of God he had. Jesus had grace above measure, that is why He could walked on water; call the dead to come forth; spoke to fig tree; addressed wind and sea; etc. Why would God says He is able to make all grace abound unto you? This is because there is a level that God wants you to step into. With this level, you ought to have all things, always, sufficiently. It is that place where you can meet any need, any time. Note that the scripture says God is able to make all grace abound towards you and not that God will make all grace abound towards you. This is because as touching human affairs, a lot of what God will do is dependent on us and not Him. He said ‘if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land’. God can make you prosperous anywise, but it is up to you. I have seen in Church some people that their circumstances may never change, not because God has cursed them or destined them to remain where they are, but because they have made up their minds not to rise. There is also no man of God that can be more anointed than God. If God does not change a man’s life, no one could do it. No amount of laying of hands will change the situation. God is Sovereign; He sits on the throne in heaven and does what He pleases on earth. He is the only one that brings down and lifts up. If God is going to change your life, He will check if you are willing. Four things can attract the abundance grace of God upon your life. Two of them are: Pray to God to grant you understanding to know what He wants you to do at every given point and to also give you the heart to obey God. It is a tragedy for a believer not to hear from God at all; it is also a self-destruct to know what God wants you to do and not obey His instruction.in Isaiah 48:17, the bible says that God wants to lead us in the way that will cause us to profit. You can’t try and figure out how He will do it. We must learn to trust God because He will never make us to do what will bring shame to us. Do good works. This is one of the reasons why God will make all grace abound unto you in an abundance and sufficient manner. If you need God to do more things in your life, then you must do something with what you have today. If you desire the sufficient grace of God in your finance, then you must come to a place where your finances will do good works. The more He finds you faithful in good works, the more He can equip you with necessary resources for you to do more. The Not Sleeping God
LEEPING is something that virtually all living organism observe. Humans, animals and even plants (stomata) do sleep. Through sleep, zoological organism’s lost energy is replenished; the brain gets to rest; dead tissues are replaced; physical growth is experienced; etc. It is interesting to note that gods do sleep as well! In the land of Egypt, when Moses and Aaron were declaring the power of God by bringing down plaques upon the people, the Bible said the magician of Egypt would replicate the same thing too. But when it came to the third plaque of lice, the gods of Egypt went to sleep (Ex. 8:16-19). Also at the contest on Mount Carmel, when Elijah was faced with the 450 prophets of Baal and 400 prophets of Asherah; the God that would send fire from the sky and consume their prepared sacrifice was to be acclaimed God by all! The prophet of Baal agreed to the contest because they believed their god would send the fire or has sent such fire before. Unfortunately, on that fateful day, Baal was asleep. So it happened that the God of Elijah was acclaimed the Living God (I Kings 18:18-39). Psalm 121:4 tells us that the God of Israel does not sleep nor slumber. This is great news to us who believe in this God. It means that we are enjoying 24/7 heavenly surveillance and nothing can happen to us that is unknown to God. In this month of May, the Almighty God will be very active in our lives; He will not let anything bad happen to us; He will also answer us promptly whenever we call upon Him in Jesus name. THE RCCG (EVERLASTING FATHER’S ASSEMBLY) 2013 PROPHECY. THEME: OUR YEAR OF GOD’S REST Isaiah 65: 21-24, Isaiah 14:1-4
WAS meditating recently to find out from God what will be our theme for 2013. There were certain challenges I saw in 2012 that I was asking God to completely eradicate in the next. God answered and said, "All covenanted ministries (whether individual or church) will hit major storm in their 3rd year. If the ministry escapes that by grace, a greater storm will come against it in its 6th year. If the ministry equally escapes the double storm, it will then qualify for the blessings of the 7th year”. For us in Everlasting Father's Assembly, there were storms that we went through at three years. To the glory of God, we escape them all. Also at six years, thank God for all the astounding accomplishments that we have enjoyed, we also escaped double storms. Glory be to God! So I asked God, since we have escaped the sixth year, what is the blessing of the seventh year? He took me back to the creation of the world. He said, ‘What did the bible says I did on the seventh day’? And I said that You rested from Your labours. So, God said "2013 is your year of My rest". Note that it is the God's rest, not our kind of rest. The bible says that God does not sleep nor slumber (Ps. 121:4). So it's not a rest of sleep. Neither is it of folding of hands. It is a rest from excessive labours and entering into excessive favours. The seventh day was a time when God stopped creating on this earth, but switched to watching over what He has created. In 2013, God will help us to look after what He has created for us and through us. We will supervise and oversee machinery that will run itself. Every system that God has helped us to create will begin to work for us. Grace will supersede haste. There was a time when the Israelites were fighting Canaan, the Israelites were outnumbered. So God began to use constellations to fight for them (Judges 5:20). God will assign hosts of heaven to work for us in 2013 . By Pastor Samuel Obafaiye
THE RCCG (WORLDWIDE) 2013 PROPHECY
Year of Signs & Wonders
FOR INDIVIDUALS: 1. No matter the darkness around you, your star will shine brighter. 2. God says, He will speak peace to your storms 3. Certain individuals have been stagnated for sometimes, the reasons for your stagnation will become known, will be addressed and will be eliminated, therefore progress will follow. 4. In many senses of the word, this year will be of completeness. FOR NIGERIA: 1. The prayers of some of you minimized death of prominent Nigerians last year, don’t stop praying. 2. Before the middle of the year, many will say hope rising. 3. Learn from disasters of 2012 and take precaution soonest to avert bigger ones.. INTERNATIONAL: 1. The Lord says prominent world leaders need a lot prayers so as not to die in office. 2. Prominent Church leaders need prayers against planned scandals. 3. Weather conditions may get worse, much worst, unless prayers are intensified. 4. We should expect a major breakthrough in medicine this year. 5. Nations who pass unholy laws will have a taste of divine fury. By Pastor Enoch Adeboye (Gen. Overseer RCCG Worldwide)
CONGREGATIONAL HYMN ROCK OF AGES Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee; Let the water and the blood, From Thy wounded side which flowed, Be of sin the double cure; Save from wrath and make me pure. Not the labor of my hands Can fulfill Thy law’s demands; Could my zeal no respite know, Could my tears forever flow, All for sin could not atone; Thou must save, and Thou alone. Nothing in my hand I bring, Simply to the cross I cling; Naked, come to Thee for dress; Helpless look to Thee for grace; Foul, I to the fountain fly; Wash me, Savior, or I die. While I draw this fleeting breath, When mine eyes shall close in death, When I soar to worlds unknown, See Thee on Thy judgment throne, Rock of Ages, cleft for me, Let me hide myself in Thee. When The Pilot Appeared To Have Slept - By Pastor Samuel OBAFAIYE
HAT will you do if you walked to the toilet on a plane during a long flight and discovered that the pilot is sleeping while the co-pilot was on break? I think it will be a bad feeling. Three things will probably happen: Exclaim to wake him up; Notifiy others around of what you saw; and keep an eye on him henceforth. May you not be on such flight in Jesus name. And so it happened in Mt 8:18- 27; Mark 4:35-41; and Luke 8:22-25, that Jesus told His disciples that they should cross over the lake to the other side. As they proceeded on the journey, the bible accounts of Mathew, Mark and Luke said Jesus went to the inner part of the ship like the Sailor or pilot and afterwards fell asleep on a cushion! Not too long, the wind and the sea began to blow against the ship and water began to enter until the ship was full. It was then the disciples remembered to cry to Jesus for help. Jesus arose, rebuked the wind and the sea so that there was a great calm. Though Jesus came in the form of a man then, but I still ask myself, was Jesus really sleeping? I don't think so. I believe He was relaxing waiting for what the disciples would do. I thought that if one was awoken into a state of chaos, they will at least demonstrate a level of shock, surprise, apprehension, etc, regarding what state they were in? Jesus did not, rather he scolded the disciples for lack of required faith! This scenario suggest that Jesus knew what was happening or better still, knew what will happen and so appeared to have slept. Another question I ask myself is how did a lake turned into a sea? Luke account tells us that Jesus said they needed to cross to the other side of the lake. Lakes are not supposed to rage like open seas. I think that a particular evil spirit must have been at work. Every spirit turning your calm lake to a raging sea will be dealt with by God in Jesus name. May the winds blowing against your life be made quiet by God. May the sea raging against you be made calm. The word that the disciples spoke was rather disturbing. "We perish!", they said. They felt this is all because their 'pilot' had slept. In Luke account, they actually accused Jesus of not caring if they perish! Meanwhile, He was trying their faith. Are you thinking that Jesus doesn't care about you? He certainly does. He is only trying your faith. Sometimes, God may choose to hide His face and appears He has slept at a crucial time. But He is wide awake. Isaiah 45:15 - 15 Verily thou art a God that hidest thyself, O God of Israel, the Saviour. There is a game many of us played while we were young. It’s called 'hide and seek'. Sometimes the seeker gets frustrated after searching for several minutes and could not locate the one hiding. At such times, the one seeking would have to cry out to call off the game, and so the one hiding will come out. There is only one way to bring God from hiding, it is to cry out unto Him. He will come out to your rescue in Jesus name. (Psalm 121:1-8) I got to know recently that this Psalm of David was always sung by the yearly pilgrims to Jerusalem unto a God they believed do not sleep nor slumbers. Three things they always ask from this God as they journey on foot for days: - That their feet will not slip. The terrain they travelled was very rough, mountainous, rocky, sandy, etc. They needed the eyes of God to go with them. The journey of life is hard as well, but your feet will not slip. Every terrain you tread, Jehovah will be with you Sleeping is what other gods do. But our God does not join them. The god of Egypt had slept before (Ex. 8:18-19); the god of Jezebel and Ahab had slept too (I Kings 18:20-40); so also is the god of the Philistines (I Sam. 5:1-4). May God demonstrate His alertness in your life. - They prayed that God will save them from the scourging power of the sun and moon as they journey during the daytime and night time. The land of Israel is an arid region. The sun is harsh as there is not much vegetation, the moon also is intense. The climate is very unfriendly. These pose a lot of challenge for these travelers, so that they cried out to God. May the Lord save you from the prevailing conditions of this Land. The matrimonial climate is hard; the financial climate is unpredictable; the social climate is hostile; the environmental climate is not friendly. I pray that the Almighty that guarded the Israelites with pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, the same God will protect you and your family in Jesus name.
