The Games in the Royal Borough
We advise business customers who have their waste collected by private contractors to contact their waste collector to check if there are changes to their collection times.
The majority of licensed premises will be operating as usual. However, due to the significant increase of visitors, there will be more licensing officers in some areas to make sure premises are safe for their customers.
We will sweep and wash the streets at different times of the day and night to keep the borough clear of litter. We will try to keep any disturbance this may cause to a minimum.
Noise and Nuisance Traffic restrictions during the Games will have an impact on delivery and servicing for businesses in the area, almost certainly leading to an increase in ‘out of hours’ activity between midnight and 6am. Transport for London has published a code of practice for businesses and operators to reduce disturbances and we ask all businesses to adhere to this code. However, due to the potential for this increased activity, from 25 July to 14 August the borough’s noise and nuisance ‘out of hours’ service will be running until 5am every day. You can read the TfL code at www.rbkc.gov. uk/2012business
We will increase monitoring and put in place additional pest treatments to keep the borough pest free.
Trading Standards During the Games, the selling of goods or provision of services will be controlled around the Earls Court venue and requires specific authorisation. Social Care Provision Some home visits may need to be changed or in some cases the carer or meal deliveries may be unavoidably delayed. We are working with our care, equipment and meal providers to ensure that they plan for this busy period so as to minimise disruption as much as possible. People affected by these changes will have been informed. We will try to keep any disruption caused to a minimum. We advise residents who receive care from an external provider to check with them.
