Tours and Excursions

Page 22

Tours and Excursions All tours leave from the lobby area of the Holiday Inn. See schedule for times and please try to be in the lobby a few minutes early. The tour schedule will also be posted in the Lobby. Leaders are identified. Water and sodas will be provided on the tour buses. For outdoor activities, be sure to take water and sunscreen, wear suitable footwear and wear a hat. The sun is warm in Tucson, but be sure to have sufficient clothing when it gets cool or you are out in the sun; think layers. Other than the Kartchner Caverns tour, all of the tours are pay as you go for food, refreshments, and admissions.

Friday Night Bar Tour The bus will be making a loop to the bars on Friday night, dropping off and picking up at the designated locations and times. Please note there is no alcohol allowed in the vans and coaches. The bars will include the BOTOP Home Bar Venture-N, Brodie’s Tavern, and The Shelter. FYI - The Shelter is not a gay bar but has an eclectic crowd and is very Bear Friendly.

Tanque Verde Canyon Hike This four-mile, half-day, clothing-optional hike leaves from the hotel on the morning of Sunday, January 20th and returns that afternoon in time for the BBQ. The moderate hike leads to beautiful pools and waterfalls in Tanque Verde Canyon, a favorite swimming and sunbathing spot for locals. Hikers will want to be fit enough to climb the equivalent of 10 flights of stairs and should bring hiking boots or comfortable shoes, light/layered clothing, sunscreen, and at least 3 liters of water. You will stop for food/snack items to bring on the hike.
