create • engage • inspire

Dear Potential Employer, When friends ask me why I want to work in Digital Marketing, the answer takes a bit longer than one would expect. Some would answer this question by saying, “I want to work with innovative brands” or “I love the internet”. Although both these answers are true to me, there are intrinsic needs that go much deeper. When I look for a potential employer, I look inside their brand. How does the company function? What values do we share? When I dig down to understand why I want to work in Advertising and Digital Marketing, I discover my need to create, engage, and inspire. I love to develop great work, and with it inspire others. It’s important that I share this passion for work with my future employer. I invite you review the rest of this document to understand how I can bring value to your organization. A combination of theoretic knowledge and hands-on experience are what best describes my education. Aside from my recently acquired BBA Degree (Marketing Concentration), I have involved myself in volunteer and internship opportunities. I have worked as an Account Services Intern at DDB Canada, a Marketing Strategist at Capilano University School of Business and a Community Manager at The International Internet Marketing Association. In these positions, I learned the importance of team work, effective management practice and good communication. I developed and executed a number of on and offline campaigns that have produced exceptional results. I am confident the hands-on experience I’ve gained working with the above organizations can bring great value to your organization. Aside from my involvement in extracurricular endeavors, I have also worked in the Web Development and Graphic Design industry for over 5 years. I’ve worked at Evolve Thought Media Group; a small agency whose strengths are founded in Web Development. Because of its boutique nature, I was responsible for acquiring new business, developing client strategy, developing ad-word campaigns, graphic designing and more. Team work, tight deadlines, effective internal communications and late nights were all a part of the job. I believe that this experience is what sets me aside from other junior applicants. My combination of education and experience will allow me to be a great asset to your team. Please review the rest of my application to see my resume and portfolio work. I look forward to discussing any opportunities your organization has available in the near future. Sincerely,

Raymond Silva
