TRAVIS PASTRANA RESIDENT Building and Site Studio

PROJECT TITLE: STUDIO: TOOLS: DURATION: THESIS ADVISOR: DESCRIPTION:

TRAVIS PASTRANA RESIDENT BUILDING AND SITE STUDIO REVIT ONE SEMESTER MATHEW BARAN

The program of this studio was a resident for an extreme sportsman, with the site being an abandoned navy base in Hunter’s point I was inspired by the industrial language it portrays questioning the relationship of the client and the machine and how it moves in space. By using a flexible shell which is structured on metal sleeves the shell of the house is able to respond or ‘pulsate’ depending on the requirement of the space inside. The outreaching intensity of the form allows the client to race through its own residence creating his own playground for freestyle dirt biking and also rally racing.

MUSIC PAVILION Intermediate Studio

PROJECT TITLE: STUDIO: TOOLS: DURATION: THESIS ADVISOR: DESCRIPTION:

MUSIC PAVILION INTERMEDIATE STUDIO 3D MAX, REVIT ONE SEMESTER KORY BEIG

In this studio there was a lot of form exploration involved with the research through mapping. The information collected for the project was music genres and venues present in the city of San Francisco. By producing ‘Form Catalogs’ we manage to discover our building language which is appropriate for the program. This results in spaces of ‘pods’ which is connected through sound tube that allows a various genre of music to be played simultaneously to different art exhibitions.

ST MARY SEMINARY Intermediate Studio 2

PROJECT TITLE: STUDIO: TOOLS: DURATION: THESIS ADVISOR: DESCRIPTION:

ST MARY SEMINARY INTERMEDIATE STUDIO 2 REVIT ONE SEMESTER RICHARDSMITH&DAVID KESLER

This is an institutional project which explores the concept of Fragmentation. In order for someone to be a professional in religious study one must go through a self examination of oneself to contribute full dedication in faith. This process is presented in the diagram shown of a rectilinear formation softening to a more flexible and natural formation. The building language reflects on this process as pedestrians move through the spaces they are reminded of the journey and sacrifice they are willing to undertake.

SAN FRANCISCO SCHOOL OF THE ARTS Final Thesis Project

PROJECT TITLE: STUDIO: TOOLS: DURATION: THESIS ADVISOR:

SF SCHOOL OF THE ARTS FINAL THESIS REVIT ONE YEAR ALBERTO BERTOLI

DESCRIPTION: This is an exploration of music, art and architecture and how it has evolved through time with modern culture resulting in the relationships they constantly share with each other. Through a research on the evolutions of Melody in music, arrangements are noted down and compared to the next one resulting in today’s arrangements and compositions. This school provides an institution where these three subjects could collaborate and produce a positive pedagogical outcome.
