In Depth Information On What To Expect To Happen During A Colon Hydrotherapy Session Many individuals may feel that a colonic is an invasive procedure that is uncomfortable. Nevertheless for those that have had colon therapy in the past are pleasantly shocked how relaxed the procedure might be. It can be a valuable health tool to be done along with a raw food detox diet. After completing a health history form and a consultation with the colon therapist, the client is asked to get into a gown or wrap in a towel and lay face up on top of a treatment table. A massage of the tummy area is done prior to the therapy session to loosen up any stuck waste as well as help the patient to relax. Once the massage is finished which lasts just a few moments, the patient turns over to their left side where the colon therapist places a disposable speculum into the anus which is nearly the size of an adult's thumb. The gravity fed pressure helps the water to circulate throughout the whole 5-6 feet of the colon, and it provides a pressure that is like a vacuum that pulls and draws the fecal matter away. Gravity fed colonics are advisable since it is the safest and most efficient way of cleaning the colon. It operates with the natural flow of the body, and decreases the possibility of any complications. The best type of system is the closed system which makes sure that all the waste will flow through a closed drainage which also means that the client and the colon therapist do not smell the feces, so this is also cleaner and much more pleasant. The individual usually feels a small amount of discomfort in the abdomen during the therapy as waste as well as gas is being mixed up and drawn out. The colon therapist may apply light massage to the client's abdominal area to facilitate the process. Cramping is a normal part of the process and once you start to break up dormant toxic waste, the bowels will do its job to expel it. In particular, when doing colon therapy sessions along with a raw food cleanse, far more waste will become present to be purged. Additionally, several patients will say the only thing that is uncomfortable about the colonic session is merely having the urge to push or get to the toilet. It's a "bizarre" sensation for lack of a better word, but it is one that you do get used to. Keep in mind that you are expelling waste while laying over a Colon Hydrotherapy Expectations

treatment table, rather than the standard toilet, therefore it's expected to be a bit bizarre initially. Occasionally while doing a colonic one may experience 'hot flashes' or start to sweat, or even get goose bumps. This is because the circulatory system is having stimulation and because the blood is purging waste. A common session will use 15-20 gallons of water and may continue for anywhere from 35 minutes to one hour. Following the session, the therapist exits the room, and the client may sit on a toilet to pass any remaining water and waste. Various patients will feel lighter, feel more energetic, feel cleaner as well as less bloated right after a session, and they could resume right back to their regular routine. Some may get a headache or even feel tired and this is because a lot of toxic material were stirred up. Years of build up doesn't get flushed out in just a single session so to ensure a more complete cleaning of the intestines it is recommended to do a minimum of 5-10 sessions and continue on with a raw detox diet.
