Featuring.... JEANTRIX Clothing Company In 2004, Nyce & Hom, The owners of Jeantrix Clothing Co., started designing sneakers. From there, they started reconstructing and making t-shirts for themselves. They received positive feedback from the shirts and people began to request them. A few months later, they decided to take it to the next level and start a clothing line... Thats how JEANTRIX was born.

What is the inspiration behind your collections? For this particular collection, the inspiration came from futuristic aspects.

Who are you making your clothes for? (i.e. age, sex, lifestyle) The clothing is for anyone and everyone, but we've got the biggest responses from ages 13-35, male & female. Lifestyle? All walks of life

Does your clothing fit into a specific style? We blend different styles and cultures together into one.

What type of feelings should your customers get from trying on and purchasing your clothes? They should feel as if they're trying on the future of fashion.

What do you love about fashion? The fact that you can show on the outside what you’re feeling on the inside. Clothes are a representation of your personality, your mind set, and your imagination.

Which celebrities can you see wearing your clothes? As of now The Cool Kids, Jackie Long, Fat Joe & a few others are already wearing JEANTRIX. However, we would like to work with Pharell Williams, Kanye West, Shwayze, Rihanna, Gwen Stephanie and a few others.

Did you go to school for fashion design or are you both self-taught? The president of the company went for a year, but after realizing it was pointless for him to go, he left. Since then we have been teaching ourselves. Continued on pg 30 D.A.M. Magazine 36

Where is your studio located? As of this moment, we currently don’t have a main studio. Everything is made out of our houses.

How large is your business? (i.e., How big is your staff) The staff is ever increasing but as of now we have 3 designers,1 assistant and 2 models.

What is the most rewarding and difficult thing about being an artist and running your own business? The most rewarding thing is the response that we receive from the fans stating how much they love the clothing. The difficult part of it is putting together and producing the fashion shows. They can be very stressful and costly, but it’s all worth it at the end.

What advice would you give to aspiring designers? Don’t follow the trends, create your own. Don’t be afraid to take risk and ignore negative criticism.

Who are your styles Icons? Our icons are Marc Jacobs, Betsey Johnson, John Galliano, Christian Louboutin and Barack Obama

Do you only sell clothes? Yes, down the line we wish to start a shoe and accessory collection.

What else can customers buy for Jeantrix? We have a broad selection of clothing:T-Shirts,hoodies,dresses,tutus,skirts & jeans just to name a few.
