01. HARMONY IN ELEVATION Designing a Research Institute in a contour site

YEAR- 2023 LOCATION- Gandhinagar,Gujarat TERM- 7th Semester| 4th Year | Academic TYPE- Research Institute| Area- 24000 sq m.

NARRATIVEThe institutional design for my 7th semester encompasses a forward looking vision for comprehensive research and study area with a focus on natural resources.Situated on a contour site, the architecture harmonizes with the surrounding environment and landscape fostering a sustaining environment for all people both for residing or not.The project aims at creating cutting edge laboratories and research areas with collaborative environment fostering and exploring areas like hydro energy, biogas,wind energy,solar energy.This dynamic hub creates a space where academics go hand in hand with sustainability.

SITEThe site is located in Gandhinagar,Gujarat with an area of approximate 240000 sq meters.The site consists of both flat land and contours comprising 60% and 40% of areas respectively.The contours varies in distance by 9 meters.

DESIGN PROGRAMThe design studio creates spaces like classrooms, laboratories,auditorium,parking, residential building, adimin, recretional spaces with relevant to solar,hydro,biogas,wind energy programmatic spaces.

DESIGN PROCESS-

STAGE1. Understanding site,contour levels and area of possible construction

STAGE2. Adding linear blocks with respect to site and contour levels.

STAGE3. Connecting and adding more blocks for connectivity and making the whole as one.

STAGE4. Adding accomadations at lower level to adjust with building blocks and environment.

STAGE5. The final model is defined by incorporating all possible facilities like parking,recreational area,view points,classrooms,laboratories,residential buildings and other amenities like auditorium.

COMMUNAL HARMONY CENTRE NEGOTIATING THE WALL

YEAR- 2021 LOCATION-Siddhpur,Gujarat TERM- 3rd Semester| 2nd Year | Academic TYPE- COMMUNITY CENTRE| Area- 3200 sq m.

NARRATIVEThe design explores various spatial experiences and journeys by people within architectural compositions.It plays with different form and length of walls that are placed in manner in order to play with the given spaces.

Various walls,mound,trees and steps are used to create a journey so that user can interact with the compositions and can relate to it.The basic idea is to provide a experience of a communal space by allowing and restricting to move to different spaces and heights so as to observe different views possible.

SITEThe site is located in Siddhpur,Gujarat.The area is defined by a market area suitable for making and placing of the centre where the main community can be attracted and can be explored.

DESIGN PROGRAMThe design studio aims to understand the various formation of spaces by using architectural compositions like long walls and short walls with mound and tree that are intersect with each other to provide useful gathering spaces and to observe the spaces.

03. CONTEXT,CULTURE & COLLECTIVE MEM WATER CONVERSATION GALLERY

YEAR- 2022 LOCATION- MANDU,MADHYA PRADESH TERM- 4th Semester| 2ND Year | Academic TYPE- Multimedia Centre| Area- 4300 sq m.

NARRATIVEThe design starts with evolving contemporary expressions for hybrid typologies within socio-cultural settings that is inspired from from traditional contexts and ecologies of a kund, river’s edge, sacred forest and a rock cut depression in Landscape.

The design inspiration is drawn from the traditional embankments in Mandu,Madhya Pradesh to recreate a comtemporary version of embankment with modern expression that enables both water conservation and meet community and recreational spaces requirement blending with the environment.

MORIES

SITEThe site is located in Mandu district of Madhya Pradesh wherein embankments are built in Jahaz Mahal where two lakes Kapoor amd Kunj lakes provide both beauty and allow conservation of water.

DESIGN PROGRAMThe design studio aims to create deep knowledge about foundation and conceptual aspects of design to create community spaces and recreational spaces with sustainable construction technique for conservation and design aspects.

DESIGN PROCESS-

Cubes of lenght of 3 meters are formed and joined to get a series.

Simple supports are provided in each corner and joints to withstand load.

Staircases are provided to allow people to move on to different heights.

Supports of bigger in size of ball joint of cement are placed down to kund water.

04. FORM AND FUNCTIONALITY INSTITUTIONAL DESIGN

YEAR- 2022 LOCATION-Parul University,Vadodara TERM- 5th Semester| 3rd Year | Academic TYPE- Institutional| Area- 24000 sq m.

NARRATIVEThe design aim is to go beyond the conventional ways of building educational spaces.The basic design of this starts by taking consideration of different varieties of people moving in a place and interaction that takes places with basic work.

The design inspiration is drawn from various institute design which are more greater in dimension and alot of people takes part in communicating with each other.By understamdimg the need of the different user and a smooth trasnsition between spaces will allow user to communicate both with people,building spaces and natural sorrounding environment.

SITEThe site is located in Parul University,Vadodara campus.The chosen area is a flat land primarily used for sports activities and is where new admin building of the campus is proposed.The area is connected with well rodds and paths for both pedistrian and vehicles.

DESIGN PROGRAMThe design studio aims to understand the complexity of varieties of users moving,meeting and communicating at a single space with varieties of purposes.to understand the creation of optimal spaces for smooth flow work and transition of heavy foot falls.
