This is a self initiated project where we have tried to revamp the Indian Railways Passenger Reservation Enquiry website. http://www.indianrail.gov.in/ Like many others we have often felt that the site needed a better interface along with better looks. After all it is an Indian Govt. website & people use it all the time. We have tried to keep as much originality as possible & have not done anything too lateral & drastic. The color palette is close enough & We have kept most of the information available on the site with space for advertisements, news and other such stuff.
The main design changes are: • Giving the PNR STATUS a complete new space on the website instead of a tab. • Making a tab for HOME as the website did not have a proper HOME page. • Making the search more flexible and instant thus decreasing the cognitive load & mental fatigue.
