R.A.Roberts Ltd was established in 1922, originally supplying domestic and business furniture within the Sheffield area. With a commitment to providing a high quality and ethical service, in 90 years of trading, the company has throughout its history adapted to change with speed and agility and has diversified into a number of market sectors. By analysing your ordering procedures, products and services usage, we can offer you valuable savings on an ongoing basis. In partnership with your Business Development Manager, we will appoint an account manager to assist and advise on all your requirements. The account manager will be fully briefed on the goals and operational requirements of your account and will help ensure that all cost saving and service levels targets are met.

Monitoring & Review To ensure that we are delivering the agreed savings and service levels, we would propose to hold regular and thorough account review meetings. At these meeting we will review the spend analysis on the account, our first time, on time delivery service, any back orders as well as gathering your feedback and your feelings on the service that you are receiving. We thrive on feedback; positive is great as it confirms what we are doing well, but any other feedback is equally as important as it enables us to focus on any areas where we may not have met your requirements. Rest assured, should this ever happen we will do everything in our power to correct this as swiftly as possible. Ordering We make ordering easy for you. Our team are available to take orders and enquiries from 8.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. We are always delighted to talk to customers and take orders over the telephone and our experienced team are proactive in offering advice on best value product selection when required. If you prefer to place order via a fax or email, these are passed to our order processing team who will always contact you if unsure of your requirements to ensure that the orders are always right first time. Our web ordering system is updated in real time so holds records of any quotation that you have requested as well as order pads tailored to your exact requirements for easy best value product selection. We can set up authority levels, restrict product access for individual users, and also give your accounts department password protected access to all you order history, invoices and statements in real time. You can even process payments through our online system. We can also tailor reports to suit your requirements and give you access to run these in real time through the web.

Invoicing Accurate and regular invoicing is critical to minimising the administrative and overall procurement costs associated each customer account. We closely monitor our invoicing accuracy levels to ensure that discrepancies are minimised. Over the last 20 months our invoice accuracy level is in excess of 99.8% Invoices can be produced by main account, branch, department, cost centre or order. These can be consolidated weekly, fortnightly, monthly or when instructed, to suit requirements. All invoices will clearly show the order number, delivery address, complete item and pricing information, Vat rate and amount. Distribution Our distribution service provides you with a complete range of reliable logistics and procurement services offering many benefits. We have 3 central distribution centres and 15 regional service centres covering the UK with a fleet of over 400 delivery vehicles driven by security cleared, CRB checked local employees. This means that we can provide our premium local service levels to customers throughout the country. With 52,000 product lines stocked in 20,000 pallet locations, each day we make over 30,000 picks with an accuracy rate of 99.88%. These statistics are not target figures, they are the figures that we achieve day by day, month on month. Implementation Our experienced business development managers and account management team will ensure that the implementation and subsequent running of the account will be handled smoothly and efficiently. Recycling solutions We offer a comprehensive recycling service that includes collecting your empty laser and inkjet cartridges from your office and provide you with recycling bins to make recycling as simple as possible. We guarantee that your recycling is disposed of correctly and doesn't end up in landfill. We are also able to offer our unique Closed Loop Paper Service. Many suppliers offer to recycle your waste paper, we go one step further, turning your UK waste paper back into quality 100% recycled copier paper that you can use and recycle again. If your waste paper is confidential, we’ll ensure that it's shredded securely and provide a Certificate of Destruction to confirm your compliance under the Data Protection Act.

We take our environmental responsibilities very seriously, introducing a number of programmes internally to ensure that we are continuously monitoring, evaluating and improving our environmental efficiency. Reducing our carbon footprint As part of our Earth 1st initiative, we work closely with customers to minimise our and their environmental impact, through the use of sustainable ordering and delivery patterns. We have installed a solar pv system at our premises in Sheffield, capable of generating up to 10 kilowatts of electricity each year. Any unused electricity we produce is exported back to the grid for use by other businesses and households. Printed catalogues Our catalogues are printed on either recycled or FSC accredited paper and we are working with our customers to encourage online ordering to reduce the amounts of paper used. Online Ordering We encourage our customers to order online to save paper; it is an easy and simple way of ordering your supplies, as well as looking after the environment. ISO14001 Having first achieved UKAS accredited ISO14001 standard for our environmental management system in May 2009, we continue to demonstrate our commitment to continuous environmental improvement. Since 2008, our waste to landfill has reduced by over 84%, gas usage has reduced by over 8% and average co2 per company vehicle by over 20%. Since this time we have recycled over 15 tonnes of paper, cardboard and polythene and donated over £2000 to Sheffield Children’s Hospital as a result of our cartridge collection and recycling scheme.
