Potential Users A sticker is a piece of paper or polymer with adhesive sticky on the back. It is widely used at home including decoration, and marking information of products. There is an opportunity to design a better and faster tool to remove sticker for household using.

Hypothesis After analysing all the data, the physical solutions are better but not good enough. As the hot air can be widely used to remove stickers, a lot of people choose to use hair dryer to remove stickers. However, the finger feels burning under the hair dryer. What if using the blade to take place of finger and heating it so that it can be faster to be inserted under the label and avoids to burn the finger?

Blade

The sharp blade is dangerous. It is needed to design a safe way to store the blade in the tool. The blade cannot be very big nor very small. The medium size will gurantee that it can deal with most of the situation.

Heating system

It is dangerous to expose the heating system outside. It may burn fingers and other stuffs. Besides, the heating system will also cause inner temperature rising of the tool. Thus, a good cooling system is needed to consider.

Angle of blade

The angle of blade is vital when peeling off the label. According to one failure experience during the test, the angle between the blade and the surface should be less than ten degree. Otherwise, even if the blade is hot, it is very hard to insert it under the label.


EXTREME TESTS FOR THE NEW SOLUTION Test Proocess and Result Using the original mailing label to simulate the extreme situation. Still using the AOYUE hot air rework station to produce the certain temperature hot air. Try to feel the different intensity under the different temperatures.

Using the hot air rework station to heat the blade and insert the blade under the label from one corner. Four corners have been marked for four different degrees.

Hard to insert the blade under labels. Adding more pressure will tear the label.

Easier to insert the blade but still hard to push the blade in order to peel off the label.

Easy to insert the blade and easy to peel off the label. The speed is still under expectation because of the shape of the blade.

Smoke appears since the temperature is too high. This temperature may ruin the surface and cause fire.

customers, dealing with a lot of Amway products everyday, using mailing system a lot for over 1 year

BLACK the old information but it has wasted him a lot of times. Sometimes the situation is even worse, he needs to CHANGE A NEW PACKAGE which costs extra money.

Insights

Everyday, Chenghua needs to deal a lot of Amway products including MAILING TO his customers. He has many customers who keep him BUSY everyday. It is common for him to accept some RETURNED PUCHASES. Then he needs to mail the returned goods back to corporation. During that process, Chenghua needs to CLEAN THE OLD MAIL LABEL and attach a new one. Sometimes, the new label is not big enough to cover the old one and the mailing label is extremely sticky. "I have wasted a lot of time. Efficiency means everything to me. If there is a fast tool to deal with labels, I would definately buy one."


CASE STUDY & INSIGHTS Name: Xinyi Background: Age 30, has a 3 years old daughter

Experience: Always buy her daughter

some baby books, need to clean a lot of stickers which are sticked by her little daughter.

Adaptations: Xinyi has tried a lot of methods to remove some baby stickers including hot water, hair dryer, and blade.

Insights

Xinyi is a very competent mother. She buys her daughter a lot of books so that her daughter can learn a lot. However, those book always contain comic stickers that help the kid to memory things. Xinyi's daughter, as a matter of fact, PUT THE STICKERS EVERYWHERE INCLUDING THE REFRIGERATOR, FURNITURE, AND WALL. "I am happy to buy those books with stickers for my daughter. They help my daughter to memorize a lot of animals but I have to clean them at the same time. I need a FAST AND EFFICIENT TOOL that can remove the sticker and avoid to damage the surfaces."

AUFERO AUFERO is a fast sticker remover. It has an ergonomic shape so that the hand can hold it firmly. Its working principle is using heated blade and hot air blower. It can be powered by batteries and without wire, it is handy and convenient to use.


FEATURES

The air outlet is designed as a menshy surface. It can prevent label to go into the inside of the tool through the air outlet. It is also designed to protect the hot coil since it is very near to the air outlet. Sometimes, kids may insert their fingers into the air outlet which would be very dangerous if there is no meshy surface.

Simply push this little button, the blade will slide out. When you finish working, you can just push the blade back to the blade store. The user do not need to touch the blade since it is highly dangerous and the blade can be locked inside when the user does not use AUFERO.

Even with the ergonomic shape, people may still feel sliding when they push this tool to peel off the label. Thus, these antisliding embrossments are designed. They can help the user to hold the tool firmly. Also, their color can offer a fashion style to different users.


The air intake has two functions. It supplies fresh air for the fan and it serves as a good cooling system to the whole tool. When the users use AUFERO, their fingers should not cover the air intake. Thus, it is designed at the bottom of the tool. It has some distance from the surface so it is not needed to worry that dust or dirty things may be sucked into AUFERO.

This rotary button is easy to use and easy to select different temperature. When holding AUFERO, it is easy for user to lift the hand and adjust the temperature. Besides, this rotary button does not affect the users when they use AUFERO.

This bottom design is for the batteries. Theoretically, batteries can supply enough power for the fan and the hot coil. Besides, the cooling system can help the batteries to dissipate heat. However, using 110 Voltage outlet is also considered although the wire will bring inconvenience.
