CW 6: Planar Composition

Description

Create one interesting and balanced composition using a one sheet of white paper. Create the composition by cutting, tilting, curving, bending, etc....parts of the paper.

Materials

Concept or Keyword

- Curves

Reflection

I could add more in the xaxis

Feedback

Model was good however could be modified in terms od the relations and the x axis .

- Paper
33

Analysis

- The model is made by only one paper as asked. It is in the y axis more , however, I tried to do more in the x - axis.

34

HW6: Planar System / Headpiece

Description

Design two headpieces for the two group members. Each one is to be inspired from the characteristics of the person.

Materials

- Sticks

- Paper

Concept or inspiration

- Bold - Fun

Feedback

The model I made needed more curves in different axis and needed to be More functional.

Analysis

I wanted the head piece to have curviand rectilinear . Each head piece describe one person. The model has different axis and the domain , subdomain, and sub - ordiente is visible.

Reflection

.the model needed more colors and material and needed to be more functional.

Mid-term

Description

From a video take inspiration from a dance move and make 2 models of the 2 videos.

Materials

- Egg Tray

- Wire

Analysis

Model 1: has domain , sub - domain , and sub - ordinate . All off them in different angle.

Model 2: has different sizes . However, there is no z axis.

Concept or inspiration

Reflection

The Model out of paper could be more dynamic.

Feedback

Do more shaped from the egg

Project 1:- lighting fixture

Description

Design a composition to fit a lighting fixture. The lighting fixture is to be inspired from an architect based on your architecture style research. The system (recti - cuvilinear planar or line) , material (s) and colors are up to your choice.

Materials

- Paper

- Spray paint

- Sticks

Concept or inspiration

- Flowing lines

- Crowdedness

Analysis

The model has x and y axis . The is seen in different angle.

Reflection

The model was too big to be a bed side lamb.

Feedback

I would have changed the model function from bed side stand to a chandler.

43

Frank Gehry

Information

Canadian - American architect known for postmodern designs. Gehry's architectural style is unique and difficult to categorize, so he has been considered modernist, postmodernist, or contemporary. Gehry had many other interests aside from architecture. He enjoyed sailing, and this is reflected in his designs which have the shapes of sails, waves, and sea creatures. By studying his works, one can also see that he admired Baroque sculpture from the 17th - 18th centuries.

Final Project Phase 1

Description

Create 3 models of a modular element with scale 1/3.

.

Materials

- wood sticks

- Papers

- CDs

Concept or inspiration

Analysis

Model 1: has domain , sub - domain , and sub - ordinate . All off them in different angle.

Model 2:different angles od CDs however the model is linear.

Reflection

The Model out of paper is too dynamic.

Model 2 is linear

Feedback

Model 1 has too much negative space.

Final Project Phase 2

Description

Use recycled material and do a 3 mock models with 1/3 scale of the actual model. Use inspiration.

Materials

- wood sticks

Concept or inspiration

Analysis

Model 1 : - has hierocracy

Model 2: has domain , sub - domain , and sub - ordinate . All off them in different angle.

Model 3: has different sizes . However, there is no z axis.

Reflection

Model 1 and 3 were linear

Feedback

Good relation between positive and negative space.

Final Project Phase 2

Description

Creating modular element

Materials

Keywords

- Curves

- Continuity

Concept or inspiration

Process Pictures

46

Feedback

- Some curves are will defined.

- The model reflects the concept well

Reflection

- Could be more involved together.

- The curves and transitions could be smoother.
